Hermès scarves are lovely, they are silk, and have beautiful designs. But you need to be sure they’re authentic before buying - there are so many fakes on PM right now - it's really sad. There’s a marvelous resource on Facebook - Hermès Scarf Guides. PLEASE check it out!! Hermès scarves have hand stitched hems, rolled to the front. There is NEVER an orange tag. Research what care tag should be on the scarf, and really go over the details of the design. Please take care!

snickidoodle Wow, this is so interesting! The missing accent above the e should be a dead giveaway lol! I have a NWT authentic scarf on my page - this is a great thing to know if any potential buyer is afraid it's fake.

hondoslove That was such a great idea to post this. I absolutely love the Hermès Scarf Guide on Facebook. The guy is an encyclopedia when it comes to 90cm Hermès scarves! He is who I go to when I have a question about a scarf and I’ve exhausted every other avenue of research.

soosiez Thanks for being a curator of truth regarding the authenticity of Hermès scarves. I often see your comments on fake scarves or when I see a fake one I make a comment like I did. I used to work with Hubert Guerand Hermès and knew his twin brother Xavier. Hubert said that Hermès was his mothers family name. Saddles, tack, belts and purses came first, then Dumas introduced the scarves...the rest is history🤗

Those are things that help show it is authentic. I have looked it over but can’t find those things, but I think that’s just because they aren’t shown in your photos! 🌸

rebkitt Thanks for the identification tips. I’ve only bought my scarves at an Hermès boutique. I always clip that ugly little care tag off carefully after being instructed by a Parisian woman that it was correct to do so 😆. So now I always do. Should I save them to put in the original box for resale?

cookiefiend @rebkitt I cut off the new, huge ones - they’re so awful! Who wants that poking out? 😜 I do save all of mine for resale though. The older ones I usually leave on unless they bother me when tying the scarf. I personally see nothing wrong with removing the tag, but some people refuse to. ❤️
