@mrs_posher The Vintage bags truly have my heart. I especially love your saddle-bag! I'm a cowgirl at heart. Used to ride a lot. Thank you for the compliment on my closet! You have a beautiful closet as well!

@mogiep I grew up on a large farm/ranch. I remember my aunt carrying one of the saddle bag purses. I always thought it was so cute. I’m putting another one up tonight/this weekend. Please check back and thanks for your kind words🥰

You should never sell! He went out of business and then did what he did but this is a piece of history for the country folks! I stopped by and visited him and he was the sweetest man. Took me and my husband around in his one place facility and showed us how he made each purse! Meade with his hands.... I will never sell mine.
I plan on passing down the line of family and making sure it never gets sold! Just my opinion 😁

@dawnwebb177 I always appreciate kind comments and advice. It’s certainly something to think about. I’m passing some of my Navajo jewelry down, I may add this too. I really do appreciate your kindness 🙏🥰

Workshop when I had the opportunity to meet him! It’s off Hwy 67 in Stephenville, TX How ironic I saw your post and was able to take pictures to share❤️

@dawnwebb177 Sam passed away many years ago. His son tried to keep the business going but didn't succeed. This actually looks like one of his son's designs. My husband used to stop by and visit with Sam several times a week when he was driving to college at Tarleton State. I own several of Sam's bags that he custom made for me. They were always a birthday, anniversary or Christmas gift. Sam was a kind soul.

@ilovemycows oh wow that’s so cool. I’m not selling the bag. After dawn was kind enough to share the background and story I don’t want to sell it. I guess I should just remove it. Thank you for sharing. I love that. Wish I could have met him and visited the shop. 🥰

@mrs_posher I would love this bag if you ever decide to sell it again and I can work it into my budget. If you take a look at other Sam Roberts bags you will notice a different pattern on the tooling. This is definitely a later version. He always used the same tooling pattern. The tooled leather went around the bags horizontally on the originals. So, this one looks a bit different. It’s cool though.

@ccul901 Hi Cindy- I had it for sale at one time and the kind ladies in the comment section let me know a little about the purse. Knowing the history I decided not to sell it. Are you familiar with the maker? 🥰
