Poshers,
Please be very careful when buying on Poshmark now, especially Tiffany & Pandora jewelry. I’ve noticed a dramatic increase in scammer accounts recently and it has gotten completely out of hand. I’m tired of seeing it!
Please be smart. If a deal is too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.
I’ve written out some tips I feel I can provide based on what I’ve noticed. I hope these help!!
Stay safe!

@ccposhz my pleasure! I’ve seen too many people get scammed lately.
Two things that I notice on every listing is that they are new users (if you check the join date on their profile, it’s always the current month) and they always seem to only have one active listing for sale. Most times, their description for the item doesn’t make sense and have a lot of random things ($?!) in them. I hope that helps some! If anyone else has noticed more things to look out for, please share!!
fab_fashionista
@zukezuke64 that’s so true! They never respond to comments! Thanks for bringing that up!
bam_theyorkie
More things to spot these are created by bots so majority do not have location in profile, at times pics are fuzzy/blurry, they'll never answer so ask question. Also can do a quick search with title of the item/description if you find the item sold/for sale in another profile. These scammers steal pics, they dont have item & alter label to send empty box to another address to purely rip off buyers.

@pinkfox123 YES! Thank you for sharing these tips!

fab_fashionista
@autumnlyn I agree! @moulonrouge1011 I hope they will do something soon!

@fab_fashionista Thanks for posting this I’ll keep sharing!! Gucci is just as bad with scammers they really need to find a way to stop this or we are going to loose customers to the other sites that guarantee authenticity!!!
fab_fashionista
@moulonrouge1011 my pleasure! We have to look out for each other ❤️

@socal_style_22 beware this seller-selling fake Tiffany, and when called out, she deleted post w/the comments, reposts and blocks you-reported many times-she’s still at it
rlbuchanan
Omg-I think this was interpreted wrong by @fab_fashionista I meant beware of buying from @socal_style_22
fab_fashionista
@rlbuchanan was super confused for a sec 😂 but thank you for looking out for the posh community!! ❤️

@fab_fashionista so sorry-I can imagine, being an honest seller, what that post looked like-I can totally see my error. ❤️💐

I recently noticed that too but I’m just curious as many listing are well over $500... if they can’t send to Poshmark then they don’t get the money. Wondering how does that work (waiting for people to offer below $500?)
annamorin
Thank you ❤️
fab_fashionista
@christabelle_t I’m so sorry I’m just seeing this! I actually haven’t seen any listed near $500. I’ve ever only seen very cheap prices which is why they sell so quickly, like tiffany Diamond rings/necklaces for $250 or $300. I’ve seen Tiffany gold for $150, etc. some of the scammers just never ship items at all. They just make the customer wait hoping that they will “accept” by mistake in order to leave a bad rating 🤷🏻♀️

Happened to me a while back when I first started out. Bought an LV murakami wallet for a price too good to be true. I was at ease because it started tracking but I didn’t even receive an empty box. I mean, nothing came in the mail but tracking said it was delivered. When I tried to reach out to the seller, the account was inactive. Lesson learned.
three_lilbirds
And I notice these new accounts, have random letters and numbers that don’t make sense and it’s usually always one listing. Other times, they have stolen photos I’ve seen on luxury items that someone here has posted. Or posted on Ⓜ️. Price range is usually always $200ish-$490 so it doesn’t have to go through authentication.
fab_fashionista
@three_lilbirds im so sorry that happened to you! I was scammed a few weeks ago. Purchased a david yurman bracelet and when my package arrived it was unusually heavy so I knew something was weird. When I opened it, it was a book 😩. Thanks fully I was able to get my money back because they did it to all 23 people they sold to. And yes I have noticed that about the accounts as well!
three_lilbirds
@fab_fashionista ugh...it’s so stressful isn’t it? I wish posh would crack down on it somehow. There are so many on here. Any time I see one, I report it. But the thing about reporting is that anyone can and I actually came across a seller who is an ambassador with great ratings and has been selling for years. So when I saw her Tiffany items were on the review list, I reached out to her. Turns out, someone (who lowballed her) was petty and reported her luxe items as replicas🤦🏽♀️.
fab_fashionista
@three_lilbirds yes! That happens to me. I have had some people tell me that some of my items were reported and it always seem to happen when I get lowballed. Someone offered me $30 for a $300 item a few weeks ago. I declined and then my item was reported. People are so petty 😂
fab_fashionista
@three_lilbirds actually just last week a buyer purchased a James Avery necklace from me in my closet. Held the money until 15 mins before the 4th day (when I was to be paid) and then opened a case. She stated that he neck was too big and she couldn’t fit it 🤦🏽♀️ worst part, Poshmark entertained the case for 5 days requesting “more photos” which I have no idea what that means. Today the case was denied and funds released. Ridiculous 😠
three_lilbirds
@fab_fashionista 🤦🏽♀️...wow, I’m a bit annoyed reading that. Just when I thought I’ve heard it all. Some people are unreal. So sorry. Sometimes, I think majority of the cases go to bots until it can be reviewed by an actual person. I got a response once that sounded like it was a pre-made reply to that particular topic but it did not address the concern at all.
fab_fashionista
@three_lilbirds I definitely hope things get better because the way it is going now, scammers will take advantage of every good seller on this app!

@fab_fashionista Great advice. I steer clear when seller has not replied to questions or comments.

@three_lilbirds What is wrong with people! The one thing you shouldn't mess with is how people make their honest living. Without an income - in an office, store, or online - many of us would go hungry or homeless. I try my best to be careful but some of these sociopaths are downright ruthless. Wishing you great luck!
o_l_g_pmom
Along with scammers with no real items, there're a lot of real listing for fake jewelry: some fakes even have maker's marks. It's a good idea to learn the changes between a real and fake Tiffany mark. They're small but easy to spot. Also, for both Tiffany and Pandora, real sterling silver photographed by a smart phone has a warm tint to it that can make it look like pale gold. If the pics are obviously amateur but the metal looks very cool-silver, it's usually not real.
o_l_g_pmom
@fab_fashionista Someone sent you a 90% off offer??? OMG! And others accuse me of "lowballing" when I start with an offer of 10-12% off!!!
fab_fashionista
@o_l_g_pmom Yes! I get those type of offers on the regular which is why I price so high now. I always negotiate with serious buyers :) and thanks so much for providing the extra tips to look out for. So helpful! 💕
