Attention all Poshers! There are scammers who try to buy items off Poshmark (violates Poshmark's policy). If someone: - Has a bare account with no closet, bio, account pic, etc (a pattern I've noticed) - Asks if the item authentic - Asks for more pics/info emailed or texted If emailed, they'll ask to use alternative payment (ex cashier's check) which might not be legit & even commit fraud when retuning purchased items. Be safe & please share this post🥰

rosmassre I’m glad you made one too. I got scammed last week. Buyer purchased a brand new handbag, opened a case against me and said it wasn’t what I said ( keep in mind it was brand new). I agreed for them to return it to me. When I received the package it was a box full of paper!!!! I went back and looked at their info, brand new account, no picture or anything. The funny thing is they crossed out their shipping address on the return box. Now I am a little more cautious as to whom I sell to.

laurenpar9 Thank you for posting this as I have had this happen a few times & just responded that all transactions must be done on Poshmark. They don't reply after that.

rosmassre @laurenpar9 , the transaction was made through Poshmark. I don’t even reply to people who ask to email them on the side🙃

heightshike
heightshike Unethical to sell a Poshmark item on the side without compensating Poshmark. However there should be a problem with selling items you never posted on Poshmark, correct?

keri_strawberri
keri_strawberri @rosmassre wow that's horrible! Does poshmark assist since they clearly did not return the item, or are you out that money?

keri_strawberri
keri_strawberri @rosmassre omg that’s horrible 😤 I thought the 20% commission we pay is for them to protect us. I will have to rethink who I sell to.

heightshike If you post something on Poshmark, find a buyer on Poshmark then sell it on the side to that customer without compensating Poshmark then you’re risking the well-being of the very organization that helps you sell. Shady and ungrateful

rosmassre @beautyfromash5 , I did. I sent them pictures of the shipping label on the box that was sent to me, along with pictures Of only paper they sent back to me in the box.

heightshike @rosmassre makes sense. I’m selling big items like furniture so I’m doing several but once I’m done with that I will stick with Poshmark as well.

bridgetsbeauty
bridgetsbeauty @txgratitude Thanks for this helpful information! I have had a few ask for me to email them, but I ignored it since it seemed they were trying to get my email information, or propose an off-site sale, which is not how this works. They said they wanted more photos, but I could just add them to the item if that's what they truly needed!
