This scrimshaw tall ship ring is a beautiful example of everything I love about artisan jewelry. The bone is shaped and the scrimshaw design is etched with loving care by an amateur hand. The ring is an Indigenous American sawtooth setting with silver braid trim.
This scrimshaw tall ship ring is size 6. The design measures 20 mm from top to bottom and 10 mm parallel to the band. The band is marked sterling and signed with a fox. 3.5 grams total weight.

What kind of bone is the scrimshaw?

@mdbp1999 No idea. There are any number of possibilities along the pacific northwest coastline, extending up into Alaska. It is bone (NOT ivory) but beyond that, my expertise is better with the setting than with the carving.
