There is a floating basketball and shiny silver flecks inside the nightlight that move and shine reflective shadows on the wall around it. On and off switch on front of base for easy use. liledeglace Hi, Renee! I liked but realized it looks like the galaxy lava lamp I found years ago at target! Love sports too so your choice of lava lamp is so much cooler! Simply unliking as I don’t have the space or love that the lights and electricity this uses is kinda wasteful, especially when my bed has lights that I was forced to accept:(
