leahg623@mollyrosieb I won’t name names publicly but the way they treated me was not the type of “small business” I would recommend supporting. I politely asked for proof of authenticity (which if it was real wouldn’t have warranted such an combative response)

Jun 03Reply

brittacathrine@leahg623 who did you buy from?

gensifYikes!

Sep 08Reply

buttonandthreadThey were doing free people about 2weeks ago. I lost a week of my life, going at them (only to be blocked), reaching out to all likers of their items, Providing posh full photo documentation of EACH ITEM in their closets (using recently sold listings/other peoples photos). Only to find each account remained up, continuing to make sales. Discouraging & frustrating. Started making listing PSA’s like this instead.♥️

Sep 08Reply

jabberwocky@re_world By the way, the way the scam works is that they hope you won’t realize that you’ve been sent cardboard instead of the dress, so your three days to accept or dispute the item elapses. Then their money is released. It’s pretty vile. I’ve had this happen to me on other sites. Thanks for the PSA!

Sep 08Reply

linducceThank you for alerting people to this scam.

Sep 08Reply

re_world@buttonandthread Thanks for your contribution too. I will also add the accounts in screenshot. Hopefully Posh can do something about these users in the short future.

Sep 08Reply

re_world@jabberwocky But WHO wouldn’t notice that it’s cardboard 🤯 It must be a numbers game, to get one person out of 10 because they went to vacation or something.

Sep 08Reply

instegrandThank you!

Sep 08Reply

lynnstudio19@re_world hey girl appreciate a lot for doing this! Looks like the comment you tag me in is gone, they must have reported 🙃 and yes they are computer generated bots, they crawl the recent sold listings including pic and descriptions so I put the warning there as I know they will crawl my listing descriptions, but sadly, people still buy theirs even with the warning :(

Sep 08Reply

jhmccleskey@susurins here is her post about the scamming matter. I hope this helps! 💗

Sep 08Reply

evillage21I was wondering what was going on!! I had liked several of these items but was wary of purchasing because of the price!!! Thank you for posting about this!!

Sep 08Reply

re_world@evillage21 It was totally worth it to me to go through all of this so I could have proof. The account I bought it from is now banned and I got my money back. But there’s a ton of like it that’s popping up. Thanks for sharing with others.

Sep 08Reply

misscaracooperThank you!

Sep 09Reply

madmoizzelleIt happened to me too!! I got my money back from Poshmark right away. But yea I guess they’re hoping that one of the buyers takes too long to accept the item. So unfortunate…

Sep 09Reply

graces2020Thank you so much for sharing. I started reporting as many of the scam accounts as I could and hope Poshmark does something! I have purchased reformation in the past from other sellers on posh, but when I get the items I have a hard time telling if they are actually authentic and when I have reached out to those sellers they are never able to confirm where they source their products which makes me think they are selling reformation replicas. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sep 09Reply

graces2020@re_world I have been out of town before when I receive something from posh and the three days pass before I get home and inspect it… so I am sure it happens sadly

Sep 09Reply

re_world@graces2020 Sorry to hear that. The best way to know is to buy directly from Reformation so you know what the fabric and construction feels like. No matter how well a copy is, they can't copy fabric mix that reformation uses bc of how it shrivel when water touches it. Plus the same details like the zipper and hook closure may be expensive to copy. There’s an article explaining some of it if you type it in Google “how to spot fake reformation” with everything to look for

Sep 09Reply

avioletcloset@re_world I am getting my package today! I saw that they deleted all listings. Was it easy to get your money back from Poshmark?

Sep 09Reply

re_world@avioletcloset Yes, you will open a case and take a picture of what they sent you. Poshmark refunded after a day or so and removed their account. I even filmed myself opening the mailbox and the package of it needed to go that far lol.

Sep 09Reply

tampaukerI’m so scared I bought two Ref dresses from two different sellers and checked their accounts and they’re both created sept 2021. 😭 one of them doesn’t have any listings left and I won’t be able to open the packages in 2 weeks since I’m on vacation. Do you guys know if poshmark will do anything if I end up getting scammed and alerting them in 2 weeks time?

Sep 09Reply

re_world@tampauker Oh no! Do you have a neighbor or anyone that can get your mail for you? If not, USPS will let you stop or redirect a package with USPS intercept. You can maybe try to have it redirect to a trusted friends house and have them open the package.

Sep 09Reply

tampauker@re_world hi first of all thank you so much for replying, I tried to reroute thru USPS but I’m unsure if it did the job. I’m devastated I had to wear the dresses to several events and hopefully I don’t lose my money 😭

Sep 10Reply

re_world@tampauker Happy to help! Can you also message Posh support to explain the situation seeing as there’s a huge number of these scams happening? Another Posher just received a roll of toilet paper today!

Sep 10Reply

tampauker@re_world thank you so so so much, I ended up paying for the USPS intercept and a friend will pick the package up and check it out. I’m 99% sure its a scam. do you think its best to wait til she opens the package or should I email poshmark now saying I think they scammed me?

Sep 10Reply

re_world@tampauker You will need to have proof so make sure your friend takes a picture of what they sent you once they receive it. You will then open a case instead of accepting the order upload that picture. I would reach out to Posh before only if the package will be delivered without anyone opening it before the 3 days are up. Keep us all updated as well bc the community should know about what happens on these situations.

Sep 10Reply

tampauker@re_world again thank you infinitely. I’ll check with USPS tomorrow and once my friend opens the package I’ll keep you guys updated

Sep 10Reply

avioletcloset@re_world just got it earlier today. Looked like rolled fabric with the word “India” on it. Opened a case, hopefully I get refunded soon!

Sep 10Reply

abylilyclosetPlease add skeituming5 on the list of scammers. They're posting Ref shoes now.

Sep 10Reply

julicka@graces2020 I think you should be fine buying from trusted sellers on here who have reviews and the same caliber items. I’ll be honest tho the reason why it’s so hard to tell real reformation from fake is their fabric is so awful, I’m not even kidding. their only quality items in my opinion are the ribbed material ones. one time I went into the ref store to try on the christine dress (retail 250$) 🤢 terrible fabric. even the top I recently bought and wore once is creasing and ripping like crazy

Sep 10Reply

tampauker@re_world 100% scammed, I received a package with carboard inside. I think the user was already flagged because all her listings are gone. I contacted Poshmark support and they hopefully can help me.

Sep 10Reply

re_world@tampauker 😤 Ugh they’re so awful. I wish Posh would block these users and automatically refund everyone else after it’s proven by one that it was a scam.

Sep 10Reply

Sep 11Reply

marobonsales@olivialevin

Sep 11Reply

littobeanzWow, thank you for this! I’ve noticed a lot of sketchy listings lately, so making sure this information is known to everyone is really important. Like, who just has 10 of the same “reformation” dress, “brand new”, in each size for 80% cheaper than listed on the website. Clearly something really weird is going on. Thank you for calling these accounts out, hopefully something will be done 😤

Sep 11Reply

re_world@amverga123 There are SO many brand new accounts every single day too that I unfortunately don’t have the photo slots for all of these scam accounts. Best we can all do is spread the word until Posh has some sort of solution.

Sep 11Reply

littobeanz@re_world Omg the toilet paper rolls…. smh. Insanity. People really are desperate and will do anything. How many fake packages have to be sent out before these accounts get shut down??? Poshmark really needs to ramp up their security. Imagine going to USPS and handing the employee a bag of smashed toilet paper rolls 🤣 (I’m sure it doesn’t actually happen that way, it’s just too ridiculous to even imagine). I’m so sorry to anyone on here who got scammed. I would be pissed.

Sep 11Reply

re_world@amverga123 Seriously 🤯. I guess rolling the TP is a bit more effort than to send them as is?🥴 They would’ve been gold in March 2020 🙈This is costing Posh so much money in shipping since they have to refund everyone and allocate resources to review every opened case.

Sep 11Reply

littobeanz@re_world Exactly! If anything, accounts like these drag businesses down and give the company a poor reputation. It’s their responsibility to handle cases like this for the better of both themselves and their customers / sellers.

Sep 11Reply

littobeanz@re_world Posh’s top priority should be to refund each person personally scammed, as soon as possible. Their other order of business should obviously be tracking down these accounts and banning them and / or even charging them for the damage they’ve done. At LEAST ban them, for sh*ts sake.

Sep 11Reply

re_world@amverga123 👏👏

Sep 11Reply

wearablewhimsy@re_world thanks so so much for letting us know about this scammer! They deleted your comments already 😳 all of these accounts need to be shut down ASAP! So hard since I know they keep creating new ones but this completely gives the poshmark platform a bad reputation for being untrustworthy and full of scammers ☹️ anyway, appreciate you making this PSA and sharing with @yoshtee and I! ❤️

Sep 11Reply

ittybirdHey ladies! Be careful creating PSA’s..I got deactivated doing so! So….I’m using my sisters old account to msg. I’m posher @buttonandthread. I had PSA’s about the scammers. I was on these scammers every night! They make me livid. So, posh deactivated my account. I’m guessing the scammers reported me for “violating” community rules. A stellar posher since 2015…98k followers..deactivated b/c I “harassed” bot scammers🧐So, be careful…they may deactivate your acct too. Yet scammers stay stay up…😑

Sep 11Reply

re_world@ittybird I was wondering where you went bc I normally see you warning others on their posts too. I’m sooooo sorry to hear that. Can you not reach Posh about this?? That is so incredibly unfair!

Sep 11Reply

lynnstudio19@ittybird wow, that’s indeed incredibly unfair, did you reach to posh to get you activated? I personally also did warn posh about the scammers and the whole situation to let them be aware of the urgency of the matter but …. All I got is the automated response…. The I just lost my hope…

Sep 11Reply

ittybirdYes, I did indeed reach out to posh,..right away. I had just marked my packages shipped and then my entire closet disappeared! Then, I saw the email…😞Reached out immediately! Auto response & nothing since😞I don’t know what’ll happen w/the packages/sales in process…or, my purchase! It’s entirely disheartening. I had written posh (as well as report) for 2 weeks about this flood of scammers. Yet, most stayed up! Thus, I chose to warn people myself. They were scammers, 10000%. No question. Ugh.😞

Sep 11Reply

ittybird@lynnstudio19 - same here girl…I’ve lost all hope. Saw dozens of these scammers open new accounts & list a ton last night too…making sales, again. So entirely discouraging. It’s not like I was harassing or offending a posher! Ugh… I feel punched in the gut.

Sep 11Reply

lynnstudio19@ittybird hey girl looks like your account is still suspended:( I have been googling a lot and try to find someone to report the problem to and I found LyAnn Chhay (SVP of Poshmark community), her email is lyann@poshmark.com, try to email her to see if you can get your problem solved! Wish the best luck to you!

Sep 12Reply

re_world@lynnstudio19 Thank you so much for your helpfulness. I will email her as well for this problem and for @buttonandthread’s account.

Sep 12Reply

buttonandthread@lynnstudio19 @re_world thank you lovelies!!!♥️😘You’re so kind to help me out! As stubborn as I am, especially given this situation, it was hard for me to say “sorry, I promise to never act like this again” when I know what I was doing was for good. But, I needed my account up! My buyers were prob so stressed out! So ridiculous. So, I wrote the letter/statement. Hoping posh does something better to combat these scammers!

Sep 12Reply

re_world@buttonandthread Yayyyyy!! Your account is back 🥳 A big welcome back!! 🥳⭐️💕🙌🏼👏🏼

Sep 12Reply

buttonandthread@re_world - thank you love….you rock😘😘💔

Sep 12Reply

Sep 12Reply

re_world@buttonandthread Haha gotcha 😸

Sep 12Reply

lynnstudio19@buttonandthread welcome back!!!🥳🥳🥳 so glad posh finally did the right thing!

Sep 12Reply

buttonandthread@lynnstudio19 - thx love!😉Yes, they finally activated my account…not until I apologized & made a statement promising to act according to community rules…🙄But, I did so..♥️

Sep 12Reply

lynnstudio19@buttonandthread what? That’s so unfair after you have done so much for warning the community and you definitely deserve an apology from them…. But I guess posh will eventually learn the lesson after losing a lot of faithful customers and money…

Sep 26Reply

lovelyspiceIt’s so ridiculous that legit users are spending time and effort (not to mention getting deactivated) to solve a problem that Poshmark employees are supposed to be handling. I know someone who works at poshmark and they don’t even use the app and told me they thought “only weirdos” sell on Poshmark - well I’m one of those weirdos and I have bought some great stuff from other weirdos! If the scams continue this app won’t make it amidst competitors. I hope they step up

Sep 27Reply

re_world@abylilycloset How does that even work 🤯😤

Sep 28Reply

re_world@lovelyspice Wow, they sound so ungrateful of us weirdos lol.

Sep 28Reply

abylilycloset@re_world I've reported their listing and they were taken down. But there's still one that has an Ugg boots on Ref listings. There's also two more scammers that stole other posher's photos/listing. They're no longer posting multiple sizes, but one size that's the same as the original posher's listing. Mccarthygamblea, zejcskvdkns1, rafaelelliottvm, skeituming5, ludwigovi7

Sep 28Reply

niki_aloha@tampauker WOW! Thank you all for sharing- this is all so crazy but totally unsurprising. The surprising thing to me- from reading this thread- is that poshmark isn’t taking these accounts down sooner.

Sep 28Reply

tampauker@nmariecross I feel like once they get more than one complaint about the same tactic they should suspend the account and reimburse everyone affected. Thankfully I got all my money back, but the stress and lack of trust won’t be as easy to fix.

Sep 28Reply

niki_aloha@tampauker I’m sure! Thanks for sharing your experience- I will be on the lookout for these scams going forward.

Nov 22Reply

cherine3@re_world no I didnt sadly, today the package says " delivered " but I got nothing what that person did was change probably few numbers on my home address so when I file a claim that person still gets money, so what i will have to do is go to my post office and get a print out of the package label hopefully they help me.

Nov 22Reply

re_world@cherine3 Oh no, you can still tell posh that you can’t find the package. They will at least refund you your money. The main thing now is to prove fraud so their account gets banned.

Nov 22Reply

cherine3@re_world thanks hun, i was just talking to one of the female that was scammed by this person and she won her case because she got an empty package, me and 4 other girls are scammed too so in total that I know of is 6 and I emailed Posh like 10 times explaining this to them and they told me they cant do anything about it, what a shame.

Nov 22Reply

re_world@cherine3 That is so infuriating!! I’m so sorry that happened to you. You can try charge back with your card company and explain the situation.

Nov 22Reply

Nov 30Reply

msnatalierene@re_world ear wax candles?! 😳 what the actual?! that's actually kinda funny of all the things to try & scam somebody with 🤣 but srsly these are getting outta control. i do see a lot of them are labeled as "boutique" tho, so if i sort by "closet" type only i seem to get more actual humans than bots 🥰

Dec 17Reply

modadiroma@re_world how are they getting away with this scam when a buyer has to either accept or open a case ? They just hope some people go over the 3 days and they pull the money out ?

Dec 18Reply

re_world@modadiroma Exactly, they're hoping that the buyer will not know how to open a case or let the 3 days pass

Dec 18Reply

modadiroma@re_world so they must make like 20-30 sales to be worth their while . I really can’t get over how many new profiles are popping up with counterfeit bags , I hate scrolling down all the spam just to find a real listing from a reputable seller I remember Poshmark used to be more strict and listings would get taken down within 1-2 hours of reports made. Now they get to stay up for months

Dec 18Reply

leahg623Buyer beware. I at least received a dress but the quality of the fabric and stitching was so low there’s no way it’s authentic. When I opened a case instead of proving it wasn’t counterfeit the seller got hostile and defensive and threatened to open a case against me if I returned it. No one selling real items would react this way. Their “proof” was another person’s listing and a screenshot of their customer reviews. Super disappointed Poshmark did nothing about it.
