6/$15 Antique Gilded Postmarked Art Nouveau Postcard Locket and Pansies

A classic sentimental design featuring a hanging locket/mirror-style locket framed by delicate pink and purple violets or pansies. The locket contains the script text "Just for Remembrance." The background is heavily GILDED (shimmery, metallic finish), and the frame of the locket and the chain are also gilded, giving it a rich, luxurious appearance. There is also a simulated lace/doily border across the top. Sentimental/Locket. This ornate, floral style is pure Art Nouveau and typical of high-end German printing of the era. The card is almost certainly Printed in Germany, as this was the H.B. London & N.Y.'s source for these high-quality, heavily embossed/gilded cards. Condition: Used/Posted. The back has clear, full handwriting (a long message) and a highly legible postmark. The message is dated "Dec 29th / 08" (December 29, 1908). Features a UK stamp, likely the King Edward VII Halfpenny (½d) stamp (green), which was the standard postcard rate at the time. Very clear circular date stamp (CDS) from a UK town, showing the Dec 29 / 08 date.
