A beautiful Edwardian floral postcard featuring tall pink lilies against a soft gilt background. Printed by Valentine’s in Great Britain during the early divided-back era, this one was mailed internationally and carries all the visual hallmarks of high-quality chromolithograph printing of the period. Smooth surface with no embossing, just richly coloured floral art over gold.
Front: Tall speckled pink lilies stand against a warm gilded background, printed in fine chromolithograph detail. The gilt wash gives the card a soft reflective glow without any raised texture. Petal shading remains strong, and the colour palette is classic early-1900s Valentine’s — soft greens, pale pinks, and warm tones blending into the gold field.
Back: Divided back with Valentine’s blue ornamental typography. Addressed to Sweden with a handwritten message in ink. Affixed with a ½d Edward VII green stamp, postmarked in Britain with a clear circular cancel. Publisher line reads “Valentine’s Series,” consistent with their early 1900s floral issues.
Condition:
Light corner wear, slight toning on the gold surface, and a few small handling marks. Back shows normal age toning but remains fully legible. No creases or structural damage.
