jordanmn @tomcat99 hi there!! Thank you so much for pointing this out I had to go take a second look at these boots and the strap is torn. I have added a picture with the height measurement and the broken strap and will adjust the price to account for this. The slit at the top is so you can decide to have it fit a little bit looser or to tighten it. I never tightened the straps and did not notice that they fit looser but it would depend on the calf size of the person wearing them!
