astropin1010 @poeteer That is so messed up! Thank you for posting this!

jazzkat10 @poeteer I was telling @soappups the same thing...these listings are popping up constantly! The closets have one or two items, high and odd prices, and are brand new users. Then they delete your comment and block you. 🙄

catsndocs I asked her about the size chart, but never replied. That’s just weird!

catsndocs @jzimmerman6944 I knew it for the moment I saw that listing. The sad part is that they get to fool some.

johnnynobuddy1
johnnynobuddy1 @vanessa_bravo there's a girl on O/Up and D offering solovairs....a couple years now. She will take your money. Beautiful boots. ..rare. I've told both platforms about my purchase theft. they still allow her to post. My credit card covered me.

catsndocs
catsndocs @jzimmerman6944 they shouldn’t be allowed on these platforms.

samade104
samade104 The same thing with a docs bag I just sold on another app, fake listing with my pics. Posh responded next day to my email asking me to rate their response- what response? The scam listing is still active! Sent more links and pics again, but they don’t seem to care if people get scammed

bagladyish1970
bagladyish1970 Unfortunately scammers are getting away with murderous junk sales. Peeps must do their homework. Id never buy anything marked rare either and also do Lots of poking around for anything marked vintage. Personally, id never buy Doc Martens made after 2003. Ever. I don’t give a sh*t what concerts the seller tells you they’ve been in the mosh pit of, 🙄🤬

shopmoonflower How do they even scam on posh? If you never receive your item they cancel the order 🧐

shopmoonflower
shopmoonflower Posh? If the item doesn’t arrive then it gets cancelled ??

mhendry2019 @jazzkat10 this happened to me with kids Keen boots🙄they gain nothing, so what’s the point?!
Oct 25Reply
jazzkat10
jazzkat10 @bagladyish1970 I’ve found one of the biggest red flags is a new closet with just a couple listings. Usually one of the items will have been sold and then relisted. Typically the seller has a generic avatar or has taken someone’s random image from the internet, almost like a catfisher.

jazzkat10
jazzkat10 @shopmoonflower One user told me she was given a tracking number for her purchase. I haven’t heard anything back from her, but it has been about 5 days and Poshmark is pretty fast about getting your items to you. We both agreed she should record the opening of her package should she receive it to protect herself.
Oct 25Reply
shopmoonflower
shopmoonflower @jazzkat10 but if you don’t receive them you can just report them as never received right?
Oct 25Reply
jazzkat10
jazzkat10 @shopmoonflower The other girl just told me her item was reported as delivered a couple days ago, but she never received it. She reported it to Poshmark but they have not responded. What I fear will happen is that she may receive a refund, but the scammer will still keep her money because the resolution of the dispute will be “lost in post.”
Oct 25Reply
jazzkat10
jazzkat10 So instead of some of these scammers just cancelling orders, they are still able to keep money because they can just say items were lost while being shipped. For this I refer you to @soappups
Oct 25Reply
shopmoonflower
shopmoonflower @jazzkat10 wow that’s so crazy ??! I wonder how they get away with it bc usually tracking shows where it goes to. So interesting. Honestly I’ve Bought 2 separate docs in the past 2 weeks that were never shipped so it made me feel like something fishy was going on
Oct 25Reply
jazzkat10
jazzkat10 @shopmoonflower 😬 That’s exactly why I check out the closet beforehand. A seller that’s prone to resisting items and having a lot of copies let’s you know you likely won’t get your item. And liking an item helps your chances of getting a better price, so you aren’t paying $150 for a pair of Docs you might get for $100. ☺️

soappups
soappups @jazzkat10 for that to work, the seller & buyer are working together. seller gets their 💵 back from posh, the buyer also gets refunded from posh. Sadly, I feel this will happen a lot before posh catches on & this will also change rules, not sure how yet, but it will make it harder to sell in here or any other platform like this. What a mess this is going to create.

Nov 01Reply
samade104
samade104 @oliviajb118 Both listings of the dr martens pink heart purse have been shared over&over, and the listing copying mine is still up for weeks no matter how much evidence I send posh. If the buyers were in on it, why are they waiting for buyers? I heard a scam once where they alter an address on a premade label to another street in the same zip, some crap gets delivered to a stranger, so tracking says delivered? I’m so sick of it, I wish I understood what the scam was & I wish posh would stop it!

mirandakh20
mirandakh20 This is fascinating to stumble on! I had one of these a few weeks ago. For a LuLaRue dress in an unusual print, not even an expensive or high value item. I figured out it was a scam when I spotted the same photo in a more "real" shop/listing. Poshmark refunded my money, no harm done. But I couldn't figure out what the angle is - still can't! What's in it for them?? Do enough people forget they ordered a thing and never ask for a refund?
Nov 08Reply
dinahbishop
dinahbishop @shopmoonflower yes I’m baffled money does not get released until you approve item
Nov 23Reply
shopmoonflower
shopmoonflower @dinahbishop exactly?! But personally as a seller I’ve had situations happen where items get “lost” so then they compensate both the buyer and seller. So maybe they’re manipulating that?

dinahbishop @shopmoonflower good point scary!

danemurray
danemurray Think the beavis and butthead boots for $196 are a scam?!
Dec 18Reply
monicacaywood
monicacaywood @danemurray I got scammed on a pair of “bevis and butthead” docs a few weeks ago off EB*y before I knew what to look for. Then on Dep*p. I felt like a major idiot. I’m new to this app and I’m on here for docs so this is helpful. It sucks because when ur new you end up being impulsive.. you see something you’ve been looking for and you love..
Feb 07Reply
monicacaywood
monicacaywood plus you may have been looking for it for awhile so you want to jump on it. I realized after I purchased that it was obviously to good to be true but when ur new to an app you don’t really know what the red flags are. I’m glad I’m educating myself so that I don’t fall victim to it again but also not giving these scammers extra income and as long as people fall for it I guess they’ll keep doing it. I appreciate the info for sure❤️❤️

May 17Reply
cecilsstuff
cecilsstuff @johnnynobuddy1 I would maybe believe that if I mean I don't have any reason not to but I know the factory store in London does not carry have sizes and if you ask about them they will look at you as if you have fallen from the nearest fruit tree I mean that's just been my experience but I suppose you know if we go back far enough I didn't exist we're going to be going far back though
May 17Reply
soappups
soappups @cecilsstuff they do make half sizes. Only sold in uk. Not fake. Look and you’ll see
