Antique VICTORIAN sterling monogrammed locket

Not all good things come in small packages .... please know, this is a TRUE vintage piece, not a reproduction or copy .... This is a big beauty ... a sterling silver locket ... high shine sterling silver with intertwined initials -- these were cut from a separate sheet of silver, hand engraved, and then soldered to the front, giving the letters a very 3 dimensional appearance ... nice oversize bail, ready for a thick chain or cord ... this vintage beauty weighs in at 18.7 grams ... hangs 2-5/16" long ... oval locket portion alone (less static ring and bail) measures 2" long x 1-3/8" wide x 3/8" thick ... initials look to be F deW ... closes with an audible click and stays securely closed when worn ... no maker's mark (darn!) ... no stamp to indicate metal content, but tested and guaranteed sterling silver ... inside of both halves are scratched with the numbers XXIII, this is most likely a style number ... some light wear and patina is present throughout from handling over the years, as well as a few pin-point "dings" ... otherwise in excellent vintage condition.
