hannahw121 @birdcat it's hard to explain. I think it's hair of some sort (pony maybe). Best picture to see it is the one from the back of the boots. It is pretty much all over the boots except the toe area. It's a worn, distressed look. Once the sun comes out here I will try to get a better up close picture. They have a definite slight texture to them.

hannahw121 @birdcat more of a black-silver metallic. The last few pictures in the Sun show it best. It isn’t super metallic at all, the hair covers a lot of it. Most is in the toes. They are super unusual and cool.

hannahw121 @birdcat the amount of hair is as it came from Chanel, it has not rubbed off. It is a distressed look and made to look like it is rubbed off in places. The pictures show the hair and color best. IMO the hair is the "thickest" in the heel. They do not need new heals or soles, they are not that worn....pictures show actual wear.

birdcat Thanks for the counter and the info about the boots; I was wondering if mine had ever had more hair that would eventually wear off, and I see that the heels and soles are indeed better than I had noticed: I'm used to seeing them re-done in all black. Yours look veery much like mine, fur, color condition that I can't really justify a purchase at your price.
