You could have a seamstress add straps I had made the top tighter with safety pins and the safety pin holes are still visible under the armpits. The holes will probably steam out. This dress previously had three crystal rhinestone buttons in the front satin V. They were removed for dry cleaning & lost. you can add new buttons of your choice. This dress is made of real black velvet. The velvet is in perfect condition. The white satin top has a dingy tint along the top edge.I bought & wore this in 1993 & had it cleaned afterwards so this is age-related dinginess & may not come out even in professional cleaning. If you want to wear it for a fancy event, you might want to have your seamstress apply a trim (sequin, brocade, ribbon, rhinestone, etc). Fully lined except for the black crinoline with the white satin edge. Back regular zipper. This dress is really darling. If you wear it, everyone will come up to you and tell you how much they like your dress. Great for theatre or customizing. Nonsmoking home.
