The coolest dress I own. I bought it a couple months ago from someone else here and I got it out tonight to wear to a murder mystery dinner tomorrow and discovered the halter part is way way too long on me. I could make new holes, but I really do not want to wreck this awesome vintage piece by doing that, so I will sadly pass it to someone taller than 5’1 (or who has a longer torso). It’s marked medium and because the back is all buckles, can tighten enough for size small or loosen for at least a medium. It’s also stretchy, which is probably why the overall vinyl has an extensive cracking look to it. Vintage stretchy vinyl is exactly how it looks. Has sticky texture to the vinyl when in a hot environment (when my attic gets hot it feels like this). Also, if you are short and don’t mind poking a new hole, it will work. It’s only the halter strap that is pretty long. It’s so cute on and super unique. Rockstar punk goth look. It’s a high low style that kind of flares out a bit. If anyone has this in a small or xs, I’d be interested to know what the halter length on that is (and if you want to sell it)! Also, my black cat Luna seems to love it, too, so…

miklacic @vampirella_1 I probably can’t at the moment. I’m in the middle of a yard sale so I’ve got everything outside and am trying to keep the closet updated as I sell things. What in particular did you want me to hold? I might be able to for a single item, but it would be difficult to go through the bins for multiple things.

ditavontits @miklacic I have this dress in a small that I am looking to sell. On the tightest hole the halter strap measures 20" from side to side. Lmk if you're interested. it's too small for me and I've been waiting for a friend to come over and model it so that I can list it, but I'm happy to throw up a listing with some detail pics for you. it's in fairly good shape- some cracking and creasing but not as extensive as this one.

miklacic @ditavontits strap still measures too long. I have pretty much no torso…like my ribs basically touch my hip bones…also, is yours starting to feel tacky? Mine is starting to get a tacky sticky feel to it as the vinyl ages. I think it’s unavoidable with this type of fabric of this age. I’ve had other things that have done that from when I was in high school.

miklacic @ditavontits looks like I need about 17” for a strap. Thanks for measuring though!

ditavontits @miklacic I've treated mine with leather cleaner and conditioner to keep it from getting sticky. it is in fairly good shape for being about 25 years old, not a ton of creasing or tearing.

miklacic @ditavontits ahhhh I didn’t know that stuff would work on the vinyl. Do you think it’s too late once it’s started to get sticky?
Sep 10Reply
ditavontits
ditavontits @miklacic I've bought a couple vintage vinyl pieces thinking I could salvage them if they were sticky or cracking and I think the cleaner and conditioner actually made them worse, especially because it seeps into the cracks and can cause more peeling and structure damage.

ditavontits @miklacic I can look at how the strap is on mine and see if there would be a way to move the buckle and/or add another hole and grommet without damaging the dress if you'd be interested in one in better shape and a size smaller. I'm happy to send you pictures of it when I get home from work in a little bit.

miklacic @ditavontits I probably couldn’t afford it right now anyways. I’m saving up to redo the floors in my house.
