1950s Wooden Violets Butterflies Handbag or Jewelry Box with Celluloid Handle

Exquisite! A 1950s wooden case that was used as both a handbag and a jewelry box! Painted light yellow, with decals of green and purple violets and multi-colored butterflies on all the sides and the top. Secure metal ball clasp in front. Yellow celluloid hinged handle. Inside is lined with silk moire and decorated with embroidery ribbon. So beautiful you can just display it! Or, fill with pretty jewelry, hair accessories, or special mementos. In good condition but PLEASE NOTE - some of the decals have chipped on the front and one of the sides (see photos). Given the "busy-ness" of the other decals, it's not that noticeable. Measures 8.3 inches long by 5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. The handle adds another 4.5 inches. This is a work of art. Spring is coming!
