Exquisite 1954 oil on board painting by artist Oliver J. Corbett - Greene County - Missouri.
Titled "Lagoon at Crystal Cove" dated for 1954.
This out of this world beautiful painting illustrates forest and river in the fall.
Wood framed.
American artist Oliver J. Corbett (1886-1969) was born in Springfield Ohio in 1886.
He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Philadelphia School of Industrial Arts.
One of his mentors, John Eliot Jenkins had learned from the master, Claude Monet.
Oliver J. Corbett was a painter and a muralist.
He captured the outdoors and woodlands with color and light.
One of his paintings was presented to President Harry S. Truman during his visit to Springfield Mo in 1952.
He completed 12 murals for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway Company and also did murals for churches and other businesses.
He was instrumental in the formation of the Ozarks Artists Association.
He served as tutor, mentor and teacher to many artists in the area.

The painting is in good condition, except for a scratch at the bottom of the frame and a small chip at the top left corner as shown in the last two pictures.
