If you used acrylic paint it is 100% compatible with the material.

@the_decay you should paint on more clothes! Looks great on black denim too. There's another person on here who does the same thing quite alot... I'll try to remember the name... and in a very unique style, but strangely similar to this piece of yours actually? Must be some spell you're both under from listening to all that Bauhaus (the only logical explanation really). Play the records backwards and you'll start drawing puppies and rainbows! haha no don't.... 🦇🦇🦇

@kellseven I've been doing this since I was 15, I'm 35 now 😂 My friends have a whole bunch of stuff from me. I think I know who you mean too. Unfortunately I only have a few things left, that are too awesome to sell. Jeans are my favorite to work with, but I hate pants. Thinking of doing more for fun though not just because I run out of paper.

@the_decay Really? Well i'm your friend too now, so gimme some art! Haha, seriousky though, if you paint on canvas, i'll buy it! Yeah i'm 42 now, i don't even believe it myself. It REALLY snuck up on me. And 7 ago when i moved to Vancouver, i left a storage locker behind in Victoria with EVERYTHING i'd ever owned (or made, or inherited, or otherwise acquited) in my life, like a whole hoise full of stuff. Including a HUGE clothing collection-

Probably 40+ Lip Service pieces, tons of stuff i'd made after working in a silkscreening shop for years, a massive collection of bad ass boots, etc. As an artist and a writer i had every single sketchbook and notebook i'd ever made- rubbermaid bins FULL of stuff- paintings, zines i'd made, films i'd made at film school. Plus huge record and books collections, tons of rare + collector's stuff, a lifetime's worth. Every photograph i'd ever taken.

Guitars. ALL my partner's belongings also. My dad's ashes. We paid $300/month on it for 5 years and then there came a couple months when we couodn't pay on time and we called and let them know we were gonna be late but i got an email one day that they LIQUIDATED AND SOLD MY ENTIRE LOCKER. Wouldn't/couldn't by law tell me to whom, everything, inherited jewellery and furnitire, everything GONE. I couldn't leave my

apartment for 2 months after that i was sooooo depressed. I felt like a ghost. Like nothing in my life had ACTUALLY HAPPENED because there was no longrr any PROOF. It was friggin awful. I still can't even believe it and it just cruahes me to think about, especially the art. Just so many moments in life that were perfectly captured in their rawest form through creative yourself.

expression like that.... they're SO special. I still haven't even gotten back into doing art of ANY kind, except maybe cooking?? But obvs it not the same. You can never recapture those same moments, feelings, times the same again and once they're over... they're gone. UGHHH 😭😭.... sorry. Appreciate your art. Save some for yourself. xo

@kellseven omg Kell's !!! You would feel like a ghost! Everything captures the moments even clothes even capture our perfect moments, when you buy shop for so many years, they are practically tailored to us personally- but especially arts, especially if it comes from a place so deep and raw, you can't make the same feeling happen twice, same with poetry- It crushed me to lose almost all of it, ugh. I am so so so sorry. I really don't think I could survive if I lost my artwork and books.

I'm not a people fan and this is basically why. They probably made a ton compared to the $300 they couldn't wait for. But you're safe right? Everyone isn't crumbling down over there right?

I'm just waking up, forgive me for my mistakes. I haven't painted in YEARS. Ache. Most of my stuff is on paper, which I will probably get framed. Gonna try a new technique too.

@kellseven Cooking is an art. Anyone who says women belong in the kitchen hasn't tried my cooking, I get cravings like vanilla ice cream topped with capers. Don't worry, I'm getting older too, but in the sense that I'm not as I lost over ten years of my body to sickness. These things happen. So, hello 42, I'm 35. I want to screeeeen print sooooo bad.

@kellseven I really want to work on more clothes, but thriftstores are SO EXPENSIVE- For used, are you serious? $18 for a dress that a dead woman may or may have not worn? So, I might just buy tshirts and tanks. Who knows. And there are so many humans there. They're like vultures.

wicked cool !!
and, as others mention in the comments, acrylic paint (good quality "medium body" *not light* and not dollar store) works well with pretty much any man-made material as well as leather and sheepskin...I've painted on all if them with excellent results
🖤🐈⬛
just be sure to add a laundry label with instructions to hand wipe/wash in cold water and hang dry.
