Beautiful Hand Knitted Cardigan Sweater made in Denmark for Paul Mage is a fine example of Mid Century Modern Scandinavian Style. Expert Knitters were commissioned to knit Paul Mage's designs for sale in Denmark and abroad at high end stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Abercrombie & Fitch, & Bonwit Teller. There is no tag in this sweater but I am an expert on Scandinavian Knitwear & I know this is an exclusive Paul Mage Design. It also has his unique style of buttons down the front. He commissioned this particular style of button in both Pewter and Brass for use exclusively on his designs. His sweaters are characterized by very even knitting tension done on tiny little knitting needles completely by hand. All these sweaters were produced in what is known today as a cottage industry. Women knitted at home and brought the finished work to the Mage headquarters when it was finished. Only the finest technical knits were accepted. It took a knitter 60 - 100 hrs to knit one of these! My grandparents were Danish & always brought sweaters as gifts to us when they visited. Thus we have quite a collection of them in our family. This one was gifted to my aunt, but she never wore it so it is in rare brand new vintage condition. She had 15 such sweaters so she never got around to using this one! Freshly dry cleaned & beautifully made! Fits M - L or oversized fit on a Small. measurements: Bust: 19.5" x 2 = 39" , Length: 25"

drgeorgialynn My grandparents were also Danish and lived in Copenhagen but they never sent us any sweaters. Please let me know what the width is on the cuff and the upper arm. I find that vintage sweaters are often tight on my arms. Thanks

drgeorgialynn Do you have any sweaters in blue that you are willing to sell?

cocoviolette I just saw your questions. I do have some blue ones. My cousin just sent me several more sweaters! if I know the size you need I can see what I have to fit you & I will get this one out tomeasure the arms for you. I tried it on & it felt loose to me. I do have some with loose arms as they were made to wear over under layers to ski in so arm movement room is required. When you respond do so under a bundle - that way Poshmark notifies me & our conversation is just between us!

cocoviolette Upper arm is 7" across measured flat at the bicep - circular knit yoke makes shoulders and upper arm non-binding so the fit is looser and less constricting than a set in sleeve.

cocoviolette Cuff ribbing is about 3.5 - 4" flat plus stretchy of course. Bicep measures 7" flat and is stretchy being knitted Upper arm is 7" across measured flat at the bicep - circular knit yoke makes shoulders and upper arm non-binding so the fit is looser and less constricting than a set in sleeve. circular yoke construction makes for a looser fit in the shoulders and upper arm than set in sleeves - I do not think this would be tight on you,
