This gorgeous necklace was made in historic St. Francisville, Louisiana at the Grandmother's Buttons shoppe and museum. The stunning centerpiece is a beautiful hand-dyed peach colored button, carved from Mississippi River 'Pearl', harvested from mussels along the Mighty Mississippi. it was most likely carved at the American Pearl Button Company is Washington, Iowa and would have been sold as a Lady Washington button. It's set off with a brass flower, made in the USA, using antique dies, and a small amber colored rhinestone. Farther up the necklace are a pair of pretty blue-green and apricot glass beads, carved bone beads, and a pair of sweet, little buttons that probably once adorned a child's dress. The chain portion of the necklace measures 23 inches and includes an extender that is 4.5 inches long. The measurement from the top of the large, centerpiece button, to the bottom of the attached tassel is 3.5 inches. This is a signed piece and it's authenticity can be verified by the ladies at Grandmother's Buttons, by email.
