debbyjones717 You are likely to think I’m off my rocker. And I am,surely the age that I should be tied to a rocker! Regardless, I am 70 years old, the baby of the family, my father was born in 1910. He had a “toy horse made of wood and leather” as a child, until I broke it in my childhood I’d love to find another similar Replica to paint with my airbrush. Is this horse repairable or sturdy enough to recreate that piece of my history.

debbyjones717 What is the leather placed on for strength. Is there a solid form under the leather. My father’s old handmade toy was carved from wood and had horsehair for a tail and mane. Legs were carved along the grain of the wood making it a weak point, as a young child I snapped the legs off due to the thinness (again they went along the grain of the wood.) once more Do you suppose I could reinforce this and rebuild the ear with mesh and “bondo” (collision auto body filler).

charlene92972 @debbyjones717 i don't think your off your rocker :) this is older style and I belive mostly leather.. it was given years ago to me.. along with one other.. and the y don't seem to have wood in them .. so no your wouldn't want to put bonds or anything like that maybe just re wrap the leather or a leather kit may work..
