@mylovejewelry Hello! Thank you so much for the compliment and for sharing my closet! 🥰 Your closet is also very pretty and fun!
honestaryas
This dress is jaw droppin gorgeous. Also I wonder if Micheline Pit gets called Michelin Tires? My name is spelled differently but I have always been asked about tires or Michelin Star restaurants LOL. I guess you could say we were born on a GOODYEAR... Anyways someone is gonna fall in love with this one and buy it ASAP!! Perfect for New Years.
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas I ♥️ this dress so much! It reminds me of a pinup mermaid 🧜🏻♀️ and/or a burlesque Medusa. I bought it several years ago and keep hoping for an opportunity to wear it, but alas—it remains NWOT…*sigh* I doubt that I can still squeeze my @ss into these days anyway. 🤣 Good question about Micheline Pitt. Your/her name is so pretty—annoying that it gets mixed with a tire company or restaurant. 😕
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas Btw, I don’t know if you have ever perused Micheline Pitt’s website, but this dress comes in several different colors. They are often sold out, but I love to just admire the photos. So much fun! 👗

@honestaryas ***Correction: It remains NWT. It just continues to hang in my closet—tags still attached—waiting to finally be worn by that special someone… 😉

@shrinktheviolet I think I have seen her dresses before because when I was into pinup I loved wiggle dresses!!! I used to wear waist trainers every day and it felt like someone bruised my ribs all the time 😆. I am gonna go browse her stuff. I miss dressing up and doing fancy things. Now I wear sweats and go to the grocery store at 11pm.
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas I hear that! I miss dressing up and being fancy! (I do not miss the rib bruising caused by waist trainers and corsets. 😂) Pinup fashion has always been my jam, and is always in my heart…even though I’m often rocking leggings and sweatshirts these days. I’d like to think that I’m always channeling my inner bombshell, even when outwardly I’m draped in oversized comfy clothes. 🤣
honestaryas
@shrinktheviolet Yes always!! I have the same thought 😊. Sometimes I consider my glasses makeup 😆
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas ME TOO! 🤓❤️ In fact, I got new frames recently and I mentioned something to the optician who was fitting me for my frames about how I felt self-conscious without makeup, and the optician said: “Your glasses ARE your makeup!” I was like, okay…hell yeah! 😆 👓
honestaryas
@shrinktheviolet I love that so much!! Glasses are so much fun, I have been wanting a new pair. 🥸🥰
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas Glasses are fun! You should get a new pair or two! Treat yourself! 👓💋 I will be forever grateful to Lisa Loeb circa the mid-90s for introducing an insecure, awkward, very young teen me to cat-eye frames. Thank you, Lisa Loeb, for the early style inspiration and allowing me to embrace my near-sightedness and make it fashion. 🤣
honestaryas
@shrinktheviolet it is blowing my mind that you just brought her up. I just listened to the Lisa Loeb and The Nine Stories album "Tails" this weekend because I used to play it all the time in middle school lol. She was one of my favs. Totally inspired my glasses too.
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas Great minds, as they say…😉🔮 You seriously rock…we are kindred spirits, I think. I was OBSESSED with that album and would play it on repeat in middle school/early high school. Every single lyric to every song from that album is burned into my memory still. Amazing album. Firecracker was also great. I think that both CDs are in my car right now…yes, CDs because I am vintage. 🤣 Lisa Loeb is so talented and had killer style in general, not limited to, but especially her glasses.
honestaryas
@shrinktheviolet Same!! Hurricane and Sandlewood were my favorites on tails but the whole dang album was good. I was also obsessed with Fiona Apple's Tidal...now I am going to go listen to it 😆. I love our talks 💓 haha how do we not already know eachother? It's like talking to an old friend. You are the coolest 😎 💜
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas Now you are reading my mind! 🔮Sandalwood was my FAVORITE from Tails, and Snow Day. I remember playing Sandalwood on repeat and then going to hippie shops and buying sandalwood incense and oils because I loved the song so much! 🤣 I still love that song and whole album (and I still love sandalwood incense). And Stay is my go-to karaoke song. 😆
shrinktheviolet
@honestaryas And I was also OBSESSED with Fiona Apple Tidal. I had this poster of her that I tore out of Rolling Stone magazine on my wall all through high school (next to one of dreamy Jakob Dylan…💖😌).
You are right—talking to you is like talking to an old friend! 👯♀️ I am so glad that we met on here…you are so freaking cool! 😘
jigglypuff1013
Hello, what is the max stretch for this dress? Thank you! 💚
shrinktheviolet
@jigglypuff1013 Hi there! The measurements for this dress taken with dress laying flat (in inches and approximate) are as follows: Pit to pit = 13 unstretched to 16 stretched. Waist = 10 unstretched to 13 stretched. Hips = 14 unstretched to 17 stretched. Total length = 45 inches. So the dress has about 3 inches of stretch to it. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. 😊 💚
leilasas
@shrinktheviolet Hello! Can lower hips stretch to 42”?
shrinktheviolet
@leilasas Hi there! Unfortunately, I would say no—at least not comfortably. For reference, my hips measure at about 37-38 inches and the dress fits me in the hip area, but is definitely tight. It could probably stretch an inch or two more in that area before straining the fabric. I would guess that a size small in this dress would probably fit you well, at least in the hips, depending on your other measurements. I’m sorry! 😕
leilasas
@shrinktheviolet Thank you.
shrinktheviolet
@leilasas Of course! :) I don’t know if you have checked Micheline Pitt’s website recently, but it may be available in other sizes on there.
leilasas
@shrinktheviolet Thank you. ❤️
shrinktheviolet
@leilasas Of course! 😊 I did a quick check of the site and it looks like the green version of this dress is going to be restocked: It says “coming back soon”. I hope that you can get your hands on one…it really is an amazing dress, even more sparkly and fabulous in person. 👗
1940sfashion
@shrinktheviolet it’s back on the website! I hope they restock this color in gold as well, it’s my favorite version of this dress
shrinktheviolet
@1940sfashion It’s so strange that you posted this today, because I was JUST looking on the website last night and noticed that they seem to be restocking this dress in other colors, including green. (The purple one also looks like it would be gorgeous, IMO.) It really is a stunning dress.
1940sfashion
@shrinktheviolet It is, I’d just never have the occasion to wear it! It’s gorgeous though
shrinktheviolet
@1940sfashion Same! That is precisely why I am selling it. Although, strangely enough, I found out last night about a pinup/burlesque event that may be happening in my area this summer that I may be attending…so I may FINALLY have the occasion to wear it once after all, haha.
1940sfashion
@shrinktheviolet awe, have fun in it! :)
shrinktheviolet
@1940sfashion You are sweet! Thank you! We will see if I end up wearing it. 🤷🏻♀️🙃 Although I’d love an occasion to wear many of my dresses, but events do not seem to come my way as often as they did in my younger days. *sigh* How have you been? I’ve been on the lookout still for the Barbie dress for you…
