US Pre WWI M1911 Spurs US RIA There is rust in areas, the leather is dry and brittle and will need oiled. Pre WWI United States Cavalry Spur marked "R.I.A 1905" which stands for Rock Island Armory. In good condition despite the century of aging. FYI.....Spurs made before WWI were arsenal made and are found most often marked for RIA (rock island). With the coming of WWI, production was expanded to contractors and most spurs are found marked AB and WI for the contractors who manufactured them for WWI production. Production apparently ceased after WWI when stocks on hand proved to be adequate for all uses until the end of the mounted era. Also, the spur straps are normally marked although it can be quite faint.
