Looks like real carved wood…but my understanding from research, is that the artist, Lori Miller, carves figures using real wood and molds are made from these carvings that are used to manufacture these pieces using resin and then they are hand painted. Not sure when this piece was made…many of these items have a gold sticker on bottom that says year, but this one does not have one that I could find…the only sticker on this item states “made in China”
