This stunning art deco style elaborate SILVERPLATE flatware pattern by ROGERS BROS was created in the 1930's to commemorate England's Royal Jubilee celebration. Tremendously popular, it became an iconic pattern with each generation, and predictably scarcer and more expensive each year. Also, upon Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee in 1977, the demand shot up around the world. Supply being limited, as it's not been produced in decades, price went up just as sharply! So. as QE is now in her dotage. and sadly, won't live on forever, people are buying up this rarer and rarer pattern because it directly relates to her, and upon her passing, will likely increase exponentially, and become harder to find than ever. This set is composed of 8 Dinner Knives, 8 Dinner Forks, 8 Salad Forks. 8 Dinner Table/Soup Spoons and 16 Teaspoons in the traditional way, plus 2 Serving Pieces- a Butter Serving Knife and a Sugar Spoon! That's a total service for 8, and 50 pieces of Jubilee, plus the anti-tarnish famous maker "Naken's" flatware storage chest. The flatware is in excellent to near new condition, though some pieces are tarnished and need a good polish, of course. The chest is in decent to good condition, especially inside; the outside is scuffed in multiple places, as many silverware boxes get, over 80-90 years, but that's part of the charm of this vintage service! SILVERPLATE is elegant, in demand, and fabulously popular again for both special occasions and every day meals! So "ooh la la!"
