The 'Ceci n'est pas une ...' theme for this collection means this is not... The 'Ceci n'est pas..'phrase refers to the famous painting 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe' ("this is not a pipe")from René Margritte.. It is a playful commentary on the in many ways unhealthy fashion industry. The mostly overpriced items are promoted by huge marketing campaigns and often bought with illegally obtained or ethically-suspect money. It's all about the brand and not about the value of the actual product. That's why our bag is a purely functional design. The bag is strong and durable. And they are all one-of-a-kind. No two bags are the same.The text line is embroidered on the leather. All bags are Dutch Design and handmade in our studio in het heart of Amsterdam.
