A beautiful and unusual combination of patterns, rarely seen.
These molds were used during the mid century of home decor.
These have no cracks or chips. Substantial and stable.
5.5" tall. Base is 5".
During its 25 years of operation (1945-1970), Kemple Glass produced a large number of what it labeled as “Authentic Antique Reproductions.”
Concerned that purchasers not confuse its products with period pieces, Kemple initially used milk glass for its restrikes from earlier molds. (Colors such as honey amber and light amber were added to the line in 1960, again in shades that made Kemple’s products easy to distinguish from period examples.)
Geraldine Kemple sold over 800 molds to the Wheaton Historical Association, New Jersey. Working with Wheaton Glass, the Wheaton Historical Association continued the reproduction process using a variety of different colors and marketing the glass as “Wheatonware” through home parties.
In 1975, the product line was changed to “Wheatoncraft” and marketed through standard retail outlets. Colors used include amber, blue, green, and pearl crystal.
The molds were put in storage in 1979 and have not been used since.
