Like new, never worn pendant made from a natural operculum, which is the little door made by certain mollusks (like the turbo) to seal off their apertures for protection. This is the inside of the operculum which features the awesome little spiral. In Victorian times, the operculum was used in jewelry to protect against the "evil eye", but they were used with the opposite side showing, which is rounded and dark and looks like a cat's eye. In modern times, some refer to this version with the spiral side showing as a "Shiva's eye", though this is not remotely traditional and has no ties to Hindu culture or beliefs.
