Vintage WINSLOW HOMER Nautical Framed Lithograph

Winslow Homer-STOWING THE SAILS ABOUT THIS ARTWORK Homer created sparkling watercolor sketches of sailboats in Bahamian waters during his 1898-99 Bahamas trip. When he visited Key West, Florida, in the winter of 1903-04, he further indulged his interest in the details of local boating. There, Homer painted Stowing Sail on December 22, 1903. Everything about this watercolor points toward rapid, plein-air execution. This is a vintage estate sale find of Winslow Homer’s 1903 watercolor sketch titled Stowing the Sails. It is a lithograph in excellent condition with a few scratches and signs of age from storage on the frame as shown. Image is the exact measurements of the original watercolor gifted to the Art Institute of Chicago by the Ryerson family in 1933.
