The jacket is made of Gore-Tex material which is a truly waterproof material, unlike most rain jackets which are simply coated in a DWR (durable water repellant) finish. Gore-Tex also is breathable by design in that gaseous water droplets i.e. sweat are able to penetrate the material while liquid water droplets i.e. rain are unable to penetrate. This rain jacket could be worn to protect from rain in the city, on errands, or on all sorts of adventures including hiking, climbing, mountain biking, and road biking.
