This was a birthday gift this year - from someone who knew I loved vintage items - I think it is from the '60s or the '70s as the jewelry box itself, appears to be Bakelite. (Celluloid?) (The 'gifter' told me that it was 'pretty old')...and that she had owned it for decades. The jewelry box, alone, is special, with a hinged back, scalloped edges, and an interior mirror. It measures approximately 7" x 4.5" x 2.5" This set has never been used - and originally came with a 10-year warranty. It contains a watch, a bracelet, and a pair of (pierced-stud) earrings. At first, I thought that the stones were 'scarabs' - but looking closely, it appears to have semi-precious gemstones (such as moonstone etc). The watch is a Renaissance - which from researching, is a high-quality (and fairly expensive) watch! The face appears to be opalescent and it states that it is quartz. It does need a battery - The jewelry is noticeably, high-quality - it is a heavy weight - and states that it is self-adjusting. *I think it is intended to hang a little loose... To be honest, I think I am under-pricing this - (the few ~ new or unworn) Renaissance watches I could find were a little under $400)- (Unless there was more than one brand of 'Renaissance' watches?) Since I have no idea of what the actual value of this item may be - I am going with what I think would be a fair and an affordable gift to purchase for someone else who also loves vintage.
