A large, vintage, ceramic Mino serving bowl from the Kozan kiln in the mountains of Gifu, Japan.
Kozan still produces pottery, and the bowl is 20th century, produced for the authentic Japanese market and imported by the stories Otagiri Mercantile Company of San Francisco (the OMC gold foil label is very faded but present and recognizable). Authentic “Japanese Grand Millennial”. 🙂
This is a serving bowl in excellent shape. It features traditional geometric designs on the sides and a hand painted mountain village scene. The color way is typical of Mino ware—reds, blues, gold.
9.5” diameter; 2.5” tall.
No chips, cracks, hairlines, “flea bites” etc.
