@zoelovesvintage The Levi jacket itself was a birthday gift from my Aunt when I was about 12 in 1982 - had no patches on it - brand new from the Bon Marche. My first record LP was Iron Maidens' Number of the Beast, so I drew a picture on the back and then later found the back patch it's a bootleg- that's all there was back then- that was one of the VERY first back patches before all the bands started trade marking their stuffs.

@zoelovesvintage The few record shops I went to just had Iron Maiden patches- now and then had some other ones. I mainly collected them- just had the Anthrax and Ozzy patches on, my first shirt was that Miisfits shirt- I decided to sew it inside- had to have my grandmother help me- later on in the mid 80s I started sewing them on all at once that was the thing to do back then- my main band I listened to was Iron Maiden- mainly the big 4.

@zoelovesvintage I only wore this jacket when I went to friends houses or hung out at a park- I was in school. At the time you were not allowed to have torn clothes or cutoffs, so the sleeves stayed on. Dad had a few older patches- put those on the front sleeves- Guns and Roses patch is the very first patch they put out, too. I switched them around once in a while.

@zoelovesvintage Yeah, this jacket has been with me for a very, very long time- pretty much defines the metal-thrasher movement back in the day. It used to fit big on me. I used to roll up the sleeves. It has some stains on it but I had it dry cleaned a while back. I haven't worn it in about 35+ years - if you buy it, please take care of it. I hope this story helps.

Iโm a big thrasher myself and girl this is waaaayyy over priced no jacket is worth over 4K no shade at all but itโs a very unrealistic price. I have vintage leather and vintage Leviโs denim jackets also. Those patches are bad ass and I can see how valuable they can be because of the years it has but not worth over 4K. Iโll pay $200 the most. Any hard core metal thrasher will agree. ๐

Metalhead as well here. I hope this doesn't sell for the sole reason that I hope you don't regret it and you hold onto until possibly passing it down to a loved one. But I understand if ya need the money. People whining about the price is comical. You can't get those patches anymore, and then there's the sentimental value. My own vest I wear onstage sometimes, (like in my pfp) you can't get most of those patches, and my backpatch is a SUPER rare MetallicA Ride the Lightning.

This jacket is your memory and story, it's like a used car, you're buying someone else's memories and story, so there for it may be awesome for someone to buy because they are young and it looks cool, but unless you had autographs from everyone in all those bands then it's just a used coat with patches, and not worth no more than probably $40, and that's including the labor from the sewing!!!

my 13 year old could do it better better with mu Etdy log in info, a $200 limit for non-authenticated band patches, and a 3 hour limit for labor costs. OK, I'd provide him the jacket free of cost, but most of us have a grandpa with old stinky clothed in the attic. why hasn't this sold yet??

we wore these in the 80s.. a friend's mom painted album covers on the back like this iron maiden one and put the patches on.
all of us metal heads in high school had one... we just bought a Jean jacket and put the patches on lol

Levi alone is a timeless brand the older the the more vintage the harder is to come by something with character and the fact that it's a customized jacket actually ups the price. The fact this wasn't manufactured as 1 of 50 000 others exactly like it makes it valuable. It's not about if someone thinks that's too much. If they think it's too much then it's simply not the jacket for them. You'd be surprised what people pay for authentic.
