Vintage Taxco Sterling Poison Onyx Ring Mexico Mid Century

Taxco, Mexico, 925 ring featuring a secret compartment under the onyx or jet cabochon. Often referred to as a poison ring or stash ring. I usually kept an ibuprofen in there 😄. This one is ornate. Embellished with an Etruscan style, twisted rope, swirl motif. Currently sits at 7&1/2 but adjustable band so could go up or down a size. Nice oxidation on the silver to create contrast. The stone has slight surface wear but not very noticeable. The cap of the compartment feels loose but nonetheless it closes securely. Marker’s mark looks like FMD. Eagle mark is # 3. Likely 1950’s. Unique, vintage, Taxco, sterling silver ring.
