The weatherproof design has drawstring pulls to keep out wind, rain and snow, and substantial rubber soles for traction on slick surfaces with faux-shearling lining and an adjustable topline to keep the elements at bay. These are gently worn. Love these rainboots, but I only wore them once due to I wear a size 8.5 not an 8. I just could not make them work. You get the benefit of owning them at a lower price.
