On the first picture there is a white scratch or where the leather has been scratched? What is this?

@cindydotson58 I had not noticed this before but it appears to be the underside of
the leather where it was scored to create the diamond-shaped "scales". My guess is it was
done during the manufacturing process but I really never noticed it or I probably would have put leather cream on it.
