Thai Benjarong Hand painted porcelain ginger jar with lid - in colors blue, yellow, white, red and gold-toned trim. Made in Thailand. Benjarong traditionally means "five colors" - the enameled colors are overglazed creating a textured effect on the surface that can be felt. This jar and lid have gorgeous detail, in an intricate geometric pattern. Originally purchased in the early 2000s, there are no chips or cracks. Comes in original box as shown. Stands approximately 4 3/4" tall with lid, with a 3" opening (please see measurements in photos).
