This jar is of mixed origins, with the high-quality porcelain jar having been formed in Japan, and then the classical Chinese Famille Rose glaze painting being applied by Chinese artisans in Hong Kong. The two main scenery panels feature a group of people at court - a common scene in traditional Chinese art. The two other panels feature flowers, with floral borders around all of the panels. The upper shoulder of the jar also has a ring of floral decorations surrounding the rim. There is gilt (real gold) accent running through the borders.
