Accepting reasonable offers! I am trying to raise money for my cat Albie. Sad update: ❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🩹🐈‍⬛🌈 After 7 days of intensive treatment and blood transfusions, it was determined that the vets could no longer treat Albie. I was able to bring him home for a few hours before I ended up having to say goodbye. laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler we are actually at an internist right now. he had to be transferred from the last care facility. unfortunately he is still in critical condition. but hopefully this new place can turn things around for him! the root cause of the anemia has yet to be found and now he has severe jaundice. I am not giving up on him though! Thank you for reaching out! ❤️

natalieeweiler @laurenrh27 Niles just went through having urinary crystals and ultimately a urinary blockage. I was so scared for him before I knew what was happening. I hope you know soon what's going on

laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler aww that is scary. I hope Niles is feeling better after all that. Albie was admitted to the new hospital and after talking to the doctors, I am feeling hopeful. he is definitely in good hands and they are going to try to figure out the real issue

natalieeweiler @laurenrh27 That is good news! I'm sure they'll figure it out promptly. Yeah, Niles, having the susceptibility to crystals, had to be put on a special diet. I am hoping it's nothing serious with Albie:)

laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler Albie is still not improving. he is now on his 6th day of treatment. still no firm diagnosis. Tomorrow he meets with the internist to see what new test are recommended. Doctors are concerned that this may be too much for him. He has been through so much. today he's resting and having blood work prepared for tomorrow.

natalieeweiler @laurenrh27 It seems anemia and jaundice can both result from pancreatitis. Are they ruling out a case of pancreatitis as the only cause?

laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler Thank you so much. I really appreciate you being here for me and Albie!Albie is 7 years and 8 months. they are thinking it's imha or a blood parasite that is causing the anemia. It gets very complex because all his symptoms are starting to contradict each other. It's possible that it's cancer, that his previous test was a false negative for leukemia and lymphoma.

laurenrh27 He also has severely low platelets as well as very low rbc. With such low platelets, he runs risk of bleeding from anything invasive. On top of all of that, he is starting to get fluid around his lungs and heart. Fluid overload from the IV fluids and all of the transfusions he's been having. His liver bilirubins are over 30 today and that is extremely dangerous.

laurenrh27 His doctor gave him oral doxycycline today to see if his body responds to it. It's really hard to see him rapidly decline like this. I never imagined things would get this bad for him. 😥

laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler ❤️❤️❤️ Albie came home today for palliative care. It was determined that there is nothing further that will help Albie. The doctor said that his body can't handle treatment anymore. He can hardly walk, but he made it across the room to his yoga studio. We are just going to hang out and rest today. I wish there was something to help Albie live another 7 years with me. It's so heartbreaking

laurenrh27 @natalieeweiler His doctors sent me home with pain medicine for Albie. I held Albie for hours and gave him all the love I could give. He started showing signs of distress late last night. I ended up taking him to an animal hospital, where I said goodbye to my sweet baby. I think out of all the losses I've had, this one hurts the most

natalieeweiler @laurenrh27 We have had so many pets over the years and, inevitably, losses too... some younger than Albie. A kitten we took in ended up having distemper.... And more recently I lost Oliver, but he was nearly 20 years old. Not in any case ever is it easy:( I am so so sorry to hear about Albie:(

natalieeweiler @laurenrh27 And even though Oliver was older, I had an extremely hard time giving up and letting him go peacefully. So many tears that day.... It's always been deeply painful losing a pet, even irregardless of age. I'm so sorry Albie couldn't get past this and live a longer life with you💔💔💔💔💔💔

laurenrh27 They said it was most likely cancer. Probably leukemia or lymphoma. That most likely Albie had been sick for a while but masking his symptoms. They also suspected underlying heart conditions. He tried to fight it. I'm thankful he was able to come back home with me. even though it was only for a few hours
