This scarf is one that I've hesitated to list over, and over, and over..... This is SUCH a unique piece that honestly it should be up on a wll as art instead of around my head!
I've searched and searched for information on this particular piece to no avail.... What I can tell you is this: It's Russian - this is evidenced by the buildings that surround Red Square in Moscow: Cathedral of St. Basil, State Historical Museum, and maybe GUM or Lenin's Mausoleum? The archway is hard to pin down, and I can't seem to find any depictions of a tree of life similar to this.
If you know more, would love to hear!
INCREDIBLE piece. No identifying markers. Seems to be real silk I think?
Utterly gorgeous.
Not in a hurry to lose, would love to learn about it before letting it go.

The print doesn’t look Russian at all. The buildings don’t look like what you describe.

@elena_bu lol I'm sorry you feel that way, but I spent a lot of time actually researching. it's definitely Red Square

@dangerluvr as someone from Russia who’s been to the red square many times, I can tell this is definitely not it. I was looking for Russian themed stuff, and came across your listing, and thought I’d let you know. Thank you.

It is absolutely lovely!! Byzantine is what came across through the images. Might be worth researching that region, you might come across the print. 💖

Hi there- art history major, Russian Orthodox, shamefully huge scarf collection- the “onion domes” aren’t Russian in type. The building to the right has Islamic arches, and I think the domes are also more traditionally Islamic. Compare to the domes at “St Basil’s”- the number is wrong, the positioning is wrong, the shape of the dome is wrong.
