A famille noir figure of a man, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722).
Decorated in 'susancai', depiciting a standing figure of a man, with his right hand on his hip and left arm raised and holding a sconce (vessel), dressed in a bright European robe and green trousers, with a huge open mouth smile and curvy eyebrows.
Decorated in famille verte enamels and holding a sconce/vessel that could also function as a candleholder.
Stands approximately 12" tall and I believe him to be a Tibetan Monk wearing a floral jacket and holding sometime of vessel/goblet. I found it a little unusual that his ear canals are hollow and so is his mouth, so I'm not sure how that could be achieved with ceramics.
Weight: 2 lb. 12 oz. (before packaging)
