The 2013-2014 Wichita St Shockers did just that. Led by an absolute basketball wizard Fred VanVleet, the Shockers finished the regular season undefeated. 18-0 in conference play. For one year they held an NCAA record by finishing 35-0 overall. They were bounced in the Elite 8 by runner-up and next year's champs Kentucky.
