Lovely Damascene link bracelet from Toledo, Spain. It has 8 half round mound shaped 1/2" panels, intricately adorned with flowers. The sides have tiny triangles. The bracelet is created with a rich yellow gold plate over brass, it's definitely a work of art. Unmarked from the 1950's-1970's. In beautiful vintage barely worn condition. Lightweight and very wearable only weighing approx. 0.07oz. Note: Damascene originated in Damascus and traveled throughout the world. Usually made with gold foil, plate or gold filled over silver, brass or copper metal with intricate designs and black enamel with images depicting the origin of the country. The technique for decorating metal by inlaying different metals, usually gold and silver, into a darkly oxidized background. The metal is cut and hammered into shapes and patterns using chisels. It is an ancient art form dating back as far as 1500 years.
