You can almost see one of Joel and Moishe's workers from The Maisel and Roth Garment Company (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's ex husband and Father-in-Law have a dress manufacturing company). I can see both Midge and Imogene in this! Made before sergers were common, all hand cut* and hand tailored**. Brand is Jeri James, New York. The cardboard tag from the sewing order is still attached. I don't dare dry clean it because the writing is ball point - and that would come off! Fit and Flare! Navy georgette, fully lined. Calling it an 8 by today's sizes, see measurements. Slightly squared neckline, ruched cap sleeves, Pinafore piecing on the bodice. LOVELY PIN TUCKS all around the waist to the hip! Fully lined. It has belt carriers, though there's no belt. There are bust darts, of course! Metal zipper V Back. *, ** Pinking shears used to cut the lining - hand stitched seams! I'm posting photos for those of you who also nerd out of these details! Bust: 18" across, no stretch Waist: 15" Hip: Open (flared skirt) Length: 40" It's over 60 years old. It's in lovely VINTAGE shape, though that doesn't mean it's perfect. It needs a cleaning and is missing a belt. Internal seams look like they're tussled with crinolines and girdles, but that's because overlock (serging) wasn't used, yet.
