Another pretty and practical relic from the past, this Victorian era wasp catcher still functions beautifully and serves double duty as a gorgeous candle globe. Not too many of these around, it’s Sleek and elegant, you can see the craftsmanship, look at those pretty legs.
Adding apple cider vinegar or sugar water with a drop of Dawn detergent to the vessel draws bugs, including fruit flies, down into the belly where they become trapped. Or, adding a votive type candle as shown makes an awesome table lantern, completely glowing and unassuming. This is one of my most favorite objects that came from one of those huge old homes in lower Alabama, I’ve had it for years and years. It’s timeless and totally worthy of an heirloom hand-me-down.
This is a unique antique and in excellent condition, with one minor flea ding at the top, nothing to complain about. This is a very old piece of handmade glass, with tiny bubbles and waves in the glass which are indications of craftsmanship and age. I have seen a few that had a glass stopper over the chimney. Please ask any questions as the pictures are part of the description.
9” tall x 8” wide.

@onegirlforever 💕💕This is nice-I’ve not seen one before. My first thought was a unique candle holder. It would certainly make a beautiful glow! Very useful as a wasp/flying bug catcher too! 😁 It’s pretty! 😍 💕💕

@dv1011 Good morning sunshine!! It’s totally unusual, you find them more often in Europe, I think there was 1 other one here on Posh. I believe it originally had a cap-type lid but it is long gone. Came out of a huge old plantation house in South LA- that’s slang for “Lower Alabama” 😂😃
