Like I wrote in the slides, I've made a very hard decision, I have to sell off my inventory & close down.
UNLESS Posh goes back how it was before the "lives", ruined what many of us built!
Poshmark just isn't the same place for me anymore & it's making me broke instead of keeping me stable!
โ Some people are doing great with the lives.
However, that's not how I want to run a business.
Sitting in front of a phone talking to people I can't see, trying to read messages.
My friends on here know I'm a disabled single mom with Many medical issues without any family, so I have no one to reach out to for help.
We have never been this financially strapped, I need to make 2k a month on Posh to cover rent / bills each month.
It's a very scary situation!

Iโm so sad but I hear you. Itโs totally different now & I donโt like it. Iโm doing a live Silent this week. My house is completely covered in boxes due to moving- not an appealing backdrop. I hate being on camera & teaching remotely destroyed any desire to ever sit in front of a camera again.

@moongoddess7 It is a hard decision. I initiated and guilted myself out of it twice. If my 19-year-old wasn't helping me I'd already be off. But, taking signs down changed nothing. I simply don't make enough doing this without Poshing 20/7 for less than 10 sales on a "good" week for it to be worth it anymore.

I totally understand. I don't do live shows either. Once Posh decided they wanted to be QVC it changed so much. I also don't have the patience nor time to sit there for 4hrs straight waiting on someone else doing a live show to finally list my item. I'm so sorry you have to close shop! ๐ท

Girl I'm just so scared of not being able to pay my rent, sometimes it sucks being alone. I love my privacy since I never had it before but sh1t it sucks being a 1 person household in CA. So if I do that, this will just be my side gig while I study. I still sell something every day but I am way off from last year and down to about half of what I was selling on the app in 2020.

@shopofthemoment I do think about them, all the time. My neighbor that I share a wall with is abusive. So, I have to hear it happening & since the wife won't corporate the cops won't do anything. Tonight I called CPS for the 1st time, I'm so proud of myself, i really hope this will help the little boy. OMGOODNESS This is exactly how I feel. Poshmark has changed so much. Itโs not like it was when we all started. I started in 2016 and the live shows might work for some but not all. I do understand the struggle with New Posh vs. Posh 6 years ago when I started. Huge change, and certainly out of my wheelhouse.
For sure, the friendships we've gained are the golden nuggets we take away.
I also struggle with bailing out or continuing on Posh, as are many others I communicate with.
I'm praying for God to fill your "alone" with His comfort.

I've been able to do them since the beginning, but frankly I'm with you. It's NOT what I signed up for. I need a job and need to back away from it as well. @denisealllene I'm very sad too, I really do love it here & my Pffs, I just wish they didn't start these shows. Doing that is shutting down SOOOOO many poshers. This was the best platform, I always said that, because they were different with the social aspect. Now it seems like they want to be like everyone else. So many of us that started years ago before the bulk tools & had to hand click EVERY share & follow. But it worked, if we followed the; posting, sharing, following, welcoming, helping..

It would be different for me if I could actually See or even Hear the people at the shows like on the PNS zooms I've done many. But talking to my phone is not exciting & in my opinion probably why a lot of others don't want to try them either. Completely agree with many of the previous comments. I also canโt comprehend how people are selling items for next to nothing. And very true that itโs devaluing the brands- an excellent point previously mentioned. Given how many people are struggling to survive on here financially, I wonder if thereโs anything that can be done?

@bell1971 You're like a sister to me, I have a ton of inventory so I'll be here for awhile yet. I still haven't done a live show. Just got out of the hospital, I fell while taking pictures of dresses & herniated a disk right above my tail bone & my tailbone shifted sideways. I have no energy with all of this pain. Something has to change, it just seems like posh doesn't care much anymore. I've messaged them 3 times now without a response! I'm going to be here for awhile yet though, I love you!

I'm just in so much pain & this doesn't help it makes it worse. I hope things pick back up somehow & I can afford to stay!

But now that posh has made selling together a big thing, that's what people are going to want to do & I have a feeling if you just want to sell your own items you might not get a big turn out of people at your show....

I'm so sorry to hear about you leaving but i may have to leave too.I am also disabled Like you and Poshmark was really helping me with the income that I needed, but with these new shows, I can't keep up. I can't make any money selling items at $5. shipping charges are also killing this site. Now posh seems like a garage sale site. Do you have any advice of where I could go to sell my Items? Hmm well i just finished the 1st month, i do see a drop in rando shares & activity, but i have a super small closet. i was hoping it would help you as i see in the slack blog poshers with larger closets are liking it. my input was to have control of which items i want promoted. its new & already changed since beginning.

Sadly, veteran PFFs that built the site that have been paying 20% of this p of its canโt make sales now. Naver is selling ad space (pay per click) on the site & app. Theyโre shoving โpromotedโ down our throats to make us pay so our items are seen. I canโt make $ on this site anymore. Many PFFS have left. ๐

@acelestialsoul I totally hear you, my friend! The only way weโre making sales is by selling very low or the occasional sale where someone sees something they love and just buys it. I am approved to do lives but I just havenโt really wanted to yet. My mom might start doing them but you canโt really get much for your items.
I think as many of us as possible should write in to PM and let our feelings & opinions be known!

On top of that, they didnโt reduce the base fee so theyโre still collecting 20% off US veteran sellers, plus ad fees that theyโre selling to 3rd parties (pay per click)

Iโve been accepting lowballs just to make some money. Itโs not right. I got asked if I wanted my listings promoted and when I responded, I was put on a waitlist! Whaaat???

@acelestialsoul I knoooow- if I have 2 sales a month Iโm feeling blessed, nothing is coming in and although when I began it really was not about earning but sending kindness out in the world, I canโt exist if I donโt break even- I lost thousands in the first couple years of doing this because I just didnโt understand it as a business - and the last two years are just scrambling to sell what I purchased for here without completely losing my shirt- live and learn๐

As soon as my trial period is over I'm canceling, I'm not paying to have my stuff seen. That's not fair to all of us that work so hard at our listings so they are searchable in the 1st place! I think we should see how many of us we can get to band together, maybe we can still have a chance to get Posh back!?

@moongoddess7 Idk, since Naver now owns Poshmark, itโs really not the same company anymore. Iโm so happy I didnโt buy the stock a couple years ago. I came so close to buying $2K worth of it. Now with the new company it wonโt even be listed on the Nasdaq. Maybe another site like M is the answer. I really donโt know at this point.

@acelestialsoul I agree so much for every regular poshmark listing on the feed. There are 10 advertisements for live shows. Why can't they put the live shows on a separate feed? So this way the people that have been supporting poshmark and doing things the right way. Don't have to lose their businesses. There seems to be no way to make sales sales for normal prices the way it's set up now. Do you know how many offers I get for $5 dollars now adays

@acelestialsoul If they had a heading at the top of the page that said live shows that you clicked on that would take you to a feed that just showed the. Live shows and you could choose which ones you wanted to watch. It wouldn't cost poshmark anything extra to list it That way and then the regular feed could be for the people that have been doing business the same way this whole time. but there are some listings that I can just not take $5-$10 for.

Please if you have any advice of what site I could go to list on as well as boshmark. Please let me know because i'm in trouble here.. i'm in big big big trouble. I am a don't really want to learn how to do it on another site but I don't think I have a choice anymore. And the delivery charges are killing us as well.

I loved joining PM ORIGINALLY BC of the fun, friendly atmosphere. Naver managed to kill that with auction slashers. I have Time & Money Invested in Poshmark. Iโve paid 20% of my gross sales since 2018 & put up with all the growing pains. Now I feel abandoned.

@nicolereydel1 ALL my stuff is x-listed to E b a y . At one point I had 3,000 on PM and had dropped e b a y Down to 300. Now theyโre almost identical-about 1,330 live listings. E is actually outselling PM right now. I just started M e r c a r i (just a few listings) so Iโll see if I can get my $ there.

@acelestialsoul Do you think they would agree to put a headding at the top saying live shows and you click on that and you get a feed with nothing But live shows. If they would agree to that we can all coexist and people that want to go to the live shows go to them and take out the advertisements for the live shows out of the regular feed and just put it on the feed for the live shows. It could work because they're going to end up losing all their customers.

I wish we could hit the restart button & get rid of Live Shows. I REALLY feel bad for people who got fooled into buying wholesale, overpriced bundles who are stuck with stuff that will never turn them a profit on PM. The entire stock deal smells like a barrel of fish.

@fabfinds4femmes I'm so sorry you didn't really get to see how wonderful Poshmark was before these stupid shows! it was hands down the best platform out there. I never even needed to x post to anywhere else. I was able to put all of my time (and when I say all I mean ALL) on posh. it was fun, so many of us came up with fun ways to get followers & help eachother.

@fabfinds4femmes Now we are all scrambling to try to make a sale! Poshmark was fun, believe it or not. I love it, I loved helping others, I loved creating my closets, I loved making friends! It's so sad that Manish sold out because he built this platform & so many of us would never have thought about leaving but this other guy definitely doesn't care at all! I feel he's very greedy, being an ambassador 2 is a joke now. I've sent many emails to the "PAll" email & they don't even respond!

@moongoddess7 I can sell on E for less b/c of lower fees. (roughly 13% or less) I get paid faster, too. I'm on auto pay for every other day bank dep. I don't have to wait for buyers to get packages & then wait another 3 days for them to "accept." Collectibles & high-end merch can go for more there: I don't give buyers an option to "make offers" on my listings. Occasionally I get a lower price request message. I run 25% sales/coupon a lot. "There is a "see how other seller's priced it" option.

@moongoddess7 This is why I did several blogs. I'm flat out P i s s e d at how this site has FLOPPED, while ding-dongs are standing in line to do live shows to discount their stuff to nearly free. There are a few shows that have a lot of attendees - Lux bags (selling for about 1/2 or less than they did a year ago, or compared to E) The other is Lululemon brand (also taking huge sales losses.) One of my PFFs bought a lux bag off a show & got scammed - & can't get her $ back. (blind listing.)

Pulling attendees OUT of the party & into your OWN personal live show DURING a Posh Party should automatically BAN you from future Live Shows & Party Hosting. It defeats the purpose of the parties. From LIVE HELL day #1 I've said that if they have live shows AT ALL, they should NEVER be at the same time as the parties. Now I just want them G.O.N.E. PERIOD.

@nicolereydel1 E has 2 ways to sell: auction or buy now for a specified price. EVERYBODY is getting 50 free listings there these days. (They used to charge up front for every listing., then opened up the freebies.) I have a monthly subscription for $75 and get up to 10K A MONTH for FREE. I never come close to using them all. I list almost ALL my stuff buy-now, fixed price, auto renewal every 30 days. Fees will be a selling, transaction and final fee, totaling roughly 13%.

Next I Share the new listing to T w i t t e r, I n s t a, F a c e b o o k, P i n t e r e s t & T u m b l r. I state on the post that "item can be purchased on PM or E" and give my closet & E store links. I want to find an I n s t a g r a m pro and sell directly there. T i k T o k is under threat of being forced out of the USA so I'm not spinning my wheels there.

I see that Iโm still getting alerts from Poshers doing lives that arenโt โonโ so Iโm not sure if-or when- the function will work.โI sure hope I donโt have to manually slide the radio button off for every live show host. @jimmycat as I have attended manyโฆ it appears that unless you start items for $5 no one bids. You have to start so very low, but with no guarantee it will go for anywhere near the value. I watched 2 BRAND NEW GICCI bags go for less than $300 .. so much work for so little anymore:-(

I have been on Posh for nearly 10 years and just learned so much from your posts! I am only selling my personal items and losing a ton of money on each, so a little different from you, but the craziness I have seen since I came back is so sad. I proactively share and they intentionally seek the least expensive items in my closet to share. Forget about sharing my luxury itemsโฆ they act like jealous teenagers. Is there something I am missing regarding luxury items?

I also miss all of the comments and questions on items. Itโs crickets now. I am seeing sellers list the same preowned items 5+ times for sale just to increase the number of available items in their closet. And, worse than that sellers listing items that they donโt even own - currently listed on a resell site completely unrelated to them and marking it up 3 and 4 times with the plan to purchase if it sells on Posh.

That exact thing just happened to me as a buyer from an Ambassador Plus. She sold the item to me then had to actually buy it off of E. It was shipped to me 11 days later. ๐. This is insanity and unfortunately pushed me back to selling on E again. I love your dresses! You have so many wonderful things to share and I am happy to help where I can.

@nereichek I was one of the lucky poshers invited to the free trial so I had lots of "likers" and a few sales during that time (lowballers too). Thereafter I can not afford to pay $25/week or even min $10/week to have my closet "promoted" bc there is NO Guarantee that I will sell anything during that time... There are too many unknown factors but posh 20% commission SHOULD include free promotion FOR ALL POSHERS, if we make sales Posh gets its profit โโโโโ

@acelestialsoul @moongoddess7 @nereichek GREAT ideas Tricia๐ Since live auctions started most buyers consider Poshmark as a "garage sale" and expect $3- $5 each item in any closet, no matter the brand, quality, condition. Posh is losing $$$ with those live shows and also us the "non-live shows" poshers๐

@toughluck00 I completely agree with you. Iโm just sick over this new concept they think we should do. Iโm a very private person and do not want to sell live. Also my items could not be given away for those prices. It seems to me they couldโve done their live shows on a different platform and not taken away from us. The people that made them what they are today they have no overhead and obviously not great customer service, so why did they need to take it out of our pockets?

@toughluck00 actually when I just read the Wall Street Journal, it said Poshmark was making money on the live shows. The only people losing money are the people that selling their items for two dollars and five dollars and us who are not selling anything at all because we refuse to sell it for nothing if I wanted to donate my clothes for free i would take the write off. @toughluck00 Exactly. Naver-Poshmark is making money with 1. millions of $2.95 sales 2. pay-per-click ads theyโve added to the site and app 3. Holding and collecting interest on our money after the buyer pays and while waiting for delivery and release of funds 4. Coming: promoted fees just to have our items seen (each listing will pay a fee) E & M are cheaper to sell on. So sad.

@acelestialsoul Since we pay 20% which is the highest e-commerce commission, what do we get in return comparing to E or M??? AT LEAST to have our closets promoted for free. For ex on E you pay a percentage ONLY if you sell the promoted item, NOT A WEEKLY FEE and most likely sell nothing at all. What can we do to get HEARD by Posh???

@toughluck00 for years 2004-2018 I was on E With nearly 5,000 active listings. I liked the friendly base & feel of PM 5 years ago, so flipped most of my things here. Now Iโm x-listed to both on most things. E has been outselling PM 3 months straight. Ave. cost is 13.5% 10% selling fee, plus final and label fees.

@toughluck00 Asian mktg is video crazed. 80โs - 00โs Gen. X Y Z & Millennials love reality TV, shock TV, in-your-face ads, & itโs-all-about-me selfies. I n s t a Tik-Tok F B & T w I t t e r all use video to mind-suck & mesmerize their users to keep them engaged for hours while they collect $ on viewed ads & pay per clicks (often while cloning your phone & saving your interests - which they sell to 3rd parties.)

@nereichek Girl this promotion thing is BS! every sale I've made since they added me for my "free" month has NOT been one someone clicked. I wish we could get them to do the live sh1t on a separate feed. I don't want to sell live, people don't buy for good prices on lives unless you have all designer stuff & can afford to basically give it away! or if you can sell stuff at $5.

@pamynthiadesign FLASHBACK: When I first stated, (2018) Poshmark wanted you to sell high quality clothing & bags. They promoted attention to detail, wrapping, thank you cards. Posh, love, friendliness, & supporting each other was a big deal. Now thereโs so much low end merch (Walmart, Target, Old Navy, Shein) that maybe should sell for under $10 usedโฆ which doesnโt compare higher quality items that originally retailed for $100+

@acelestialsoul I love that flashback! I remember back in 2016 when I started, it was so much fun being on Posh. they were huge about attention to detail! it's what kept me here for so long. The games, the share events, it was fun. I wanted to build a professional but fun business! it was harder to host parties because they actually looked through hosts closets before allowing just anyone to host. it makes me sad that when I go to tag listings barely any hosts post one anymore! ๐

The HELL NO SELL started in Oct โ22 from the buy out through Valentineโs Day Easter Motherโs Day & Fatherโs Day. Paydays & 1st /15th buyers evaporated as well. Now we have summer slowdown. Many of us wonโt survive it. Iโm doing F B MARKETPLACE sales OUT IF MY GARAGE. Why pay shipping? I can go LIVE in my garage & get CASH today w/o paying s fee.

I am new to POSH, only being an active seller in the last 6 months. I wish I would've known about your store a long time ago. I dont really understand the Posh Live concept, as I find it to be a huge waste of time to wait for hours to showcase 1 or 2 items and hope I can lower my price enough to entice a buyer. I'm so sick of the pressure to do shows. I also just don't have the space for it. It's not why I signed up for Poshmark.
I also keep having health issues.
Sales are in the toilet. This just isn't sparking joy like it used to.
I'll probably continue to sell jewelry, but I'm sick of the rack of clothing taking up space in my living room.

The lives not only lowered standards & expectations but have created a rather bizarre atmosphere; truly posh is the only one profiting in both the short & long run. Robbing peter to pay paul as the $ is transferred from 1 closet to another; there is not the outside audience from outside of poshland nor the quantity to actually be a viable auction. Low starts, low purchases bc the audience # is lacking-even on the luxes. It's but an internal exchange of $

@cricket6187 Wow, you've been on here as long as me! I can't believe how many of us OGs are closing, so many of my pffs are gone. Poshmark used to be fun, the social aspect of it was what set us apart from other platforms! These shows have ruined the stability Posh used to be for so many people, all the new owners care about is these shows, they don't care how much the sale is for because they will still get their cut with every $3 dollar sale in these auctions, how can we compete with that?

@moongoddess7 I was reading one of your posts on another listing where you said posh lives are hurting your sales.... I just don't see that. I have read lots & lots of people stating that it is Hurtig sales, but I don't believe it. It's rare when I ever get any sales during shows & I do probably 12 a week, and I have watched hundreds of other shows and the shows I seen didn't sell much either.

@moongoddess7 The only thing that I really think is hurting everyones sales, that I have never ever even seen anyone mention before, is THIS... people that are selling stuff they own but no longer want! Those people are just trying to get junk out of their house they no longer want and if it don't sell then they donate or give it away or maybe throw it away. Those people are not needing to make money for any of the reasons you & I do. They are not trying to operate as an actual business.

@moongoddess7 So here's how that type of person hurts us, they don't care if they make a profit, they simply have an item they no longer want so they are ok with selling it for $5 and making $2 after the posh fee of $3. To them that's a win. However, people like me & you would only break even or go negative if we sold something for $5 because not only do we have to account for posh fee but we have to factor in the cost we paid to get the item to resell. Also, why am I the only one ever talking

@moongoddess7 about the IRS on here? The IRS takes 22% from everything I make at the end of each year in income tax. I don't understand why no one else is ever talking about that when they are trying to talk about how they price their items. So, add up 20% posh fee + 22% IRS fee + probably another 8% to cover cost of item you are selling and you are getting less than half what your item sells for. Not even counting the shipping discounts that come out of all that & also the label.

@moongoddess7 I calculated what I made on Poshmark this year and also how many hours I put into it, and because I put in 16 hour days, or longer, each & every day, by the time you do the math it broke down to about $3.45 per hour net profit! A kid in a sweatshop probably makes more. But so many buyers never believe us when we try & explain less than half of a sales price actually goes in our pocket, they think we exaggerate or lie, or they simply don't care. I get so many lowball offers of $3

@moongoddess7 But yes I think it's the people selling their own junk that hurts us far more than a live show, live shows are dead. But because of the people selling junk in their home or their own crap, customers expect us to compete with those same low prices and it's impossible because of all I explained above. So our offers are getting declined when they think we are greedy when if they knew the truth they'd know we are lucky just to make a net profit of even $5 per sale.

@lolas_place OH no! I'm so sorry sweetheart! it's terrifying, I've been trying to get some kind of rental assistance but I'm having such a hard time getting any type of help. The struggle is so real! I also have Lupus & severe RA, I don't have diabetes but I lived with a diabetic for a long time so I know it's a really tough disease to live with! ๐ข

@lolas_place I also have PNES - Seizures, PTSD, DDD - which is severe now, low blood pressure, I had a PE in my R lung that killed ยฝ of it before I finally caved from the pain & went to the ER. (I was so stupid, but fear of going homeless scares me more). I have fibro., what's so sad is I have to try to remember what is all wrong because there's just so much.

@lolas_place Right now I'm suffering badly, back in May I was taking pictures & a video of a dress out in the common area of the apartment complex I live in by the pool. I didn't know that the turf was wet because the tile wasn't wet so when I was walking around the dress for the video my foot slipped when I went from the turf to the tile & down I went right on my tailbone,

@lolas_place I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, I really hurt myself this time, my tailbone is now completely sideways, my L pelvic bone is out of place, the disk above my tailbone desecrated & that shot the damage up into my neck, shoulders & jaw. I haven't been able to work as hard as normal since. Sorry for all that I just tend to go off on a tangent when it come to Posh, it's hard enough for us to try to sell anything on here anymore & the pain makes it super worse.

@lolas_place I haven't gone to the spine specialist since I got out of the hospital because ik they want to do surgery & I can't afford to be in the hospital, I don't have people that can help me so I can help myself, if that makes sense. I might have to go in soon though because it's getting really hard to lift my right arm. ugh! ๐ซถ We have to figure out how to get through this together โค๏ธ
