In Greek Mythology the Goddess of Springtime, Persephone, was kidnapped by Hades, God of the Underworld. When she was in the Underworld, Persephone ate six pomegranate seeds, which tied her to Hades. Because of this, Persephone had to spend six months of the year down in the underworld, and her mother, Demeter, Goddess of the Harvest, was so inconsolable, that winter overtakes the land and crops cannot be harvested for this time of the year. Besides being a symbol of the Goddess Persephone, the pomegranate is a symbol of fertility and fidelity, and was also the crest of the great Katherine of Aragon. Celebrate the Goddess of Springtime, Persephone, with this dainty handmade pomegranate and pomegranate seed charm necklace!
This necklace features a small 24 ct. gold plated brass pomegranate charm with micro pave sparkling red cubic zirconia at its center that measures 13.2 mm long. To each side are 3 dark red resin pomegranate seed charms that each measure 18 mm long. This elegantly understated necklace has been newly handmade just for you, is adjustable from 16.25 to 22.75 inches (can be made shorter or longer upon request), and is from a smoke and pet free home.
