Vintage 1970's woven South American rug / blanket

Beautiful, vintage handwoven blanket / rug. Purchased somewhere on Navajo Nation in the 1970's. due to specific details of the blanket's construction, it has been determined to be actually from South America or Mexico. Who exactly sold it to a family member is unknown. It is still a beautiful vintage blanket. It has gorgeous colors. Made of woven natural fibers (presumably wool). The blanket has been cherished in our family for decades, but we are ready to let it move onto another loving and appreciative home. The textile could possibly be used to make pillows, dog bed, etc. The rug is 68" long x 49" wide. It is in fair condition - mostly decent shape, but there are a couple holes. Shown in photos. There used to be fringe on each end, but it has been worn away. The rug has been washed in cold water and line-dried. It could benefit from additional cleaning.
