Traditional Moroccan Berber needlework accents this black velvet vest. Yves St Laurent was inspired by the velvet vests and coats made by the native Berbers of Morocco. These folkloric vests were seen often in his Rive Gauche runway shows of the 70’ and 80’s The vest is lined and buttons at the waist, though can be worn open. The vest measures 19” pit to pit and is 25” long. Purchased in the Medina of Tangiers in 2021 and worn only a handful of times. Like new.
