Rare/Iconic Vintage late 1960s Classic Hippy Leather Jacket by East West Musical Instruments Company. Made in San Francisco, USA. Fits a size XS Size - Tagged a size 11 (vintage) Shoulder to Shoulder - 16 inches Chest (armpit to armpit) - 17 inches Length(Bottom of Collar to Hem) - 22 inches Sleeve(Shoulder to cuff) - 23 inches This is an artisan hand made jacket/ a multi-piece construction featuring natural and hand colored leathers. The base leather has an ultra soft lambskin feel. Dog ear collar with leather rose appliqué. Zips up the front with a brass YKK zipper. Satin lining and makers mark at interior. Well worn and loved with wear throughout consistent with age. See pictures. (Lighting in last photos is a bit high - colors are exactly as floor photos pictured) A little background: the jackets made by East West from 1967-1978 were not cheap even at the time, and the flashy, ostentatious, eye-catching designs attracted a dedicated following amongst the musical and artistic avant garde and were worn by such figures as Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana, Iggy Pop, Bruce Springsteen, and Elvis Presley.
